What people are saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST MONITOR ON THE MARKET!!! I pre ordered this monitor on the first day pre orders went live and received it mid January and this thing is an absolute beast of a monitor, by far the quickest most responsive monitor i have ever used. Don’t even notice the matte finish and the picture quality is stunning! I would think it was a 4k monitor without looking at the specs. As far as people saying it isn’t bright enough all you have to do is tweak the monitor settings and it is plenty bright! I only have my brightness set to 85 and that is all I need sounds like they are just too lazy to actually adjust settings. Would definitely recommend buying this monitor!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life’s Good As a proud owner of a glossy LG 4K OLED Dolby Vision TV, I am grateful to finally see a matte LG 1440p OLED HDR10 monitor that’s made for gaming, with 240hz 0.03ms GTG Free/G-Sync to provide silky smooth gameplay. The matte screen & max brightness will be more than enough for an eSports gamer sitting centered in front of the monitor. After all, isn’t that what this monitor is made for? If you want glossy screen, higher brightness & Dolby Vision, then use a TV as a monitor? I’m sure the matte screen is to protect your eyes, anti-glare for any gaming environment & brightness isn’t as high to help with screen/image burn, or eye burn for that matter. Everything criticized for this monitor, is not a problem for a true gamer & for what you get, it’s laughable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not For Me I went from using a LG B9 to this expecting to be blown away and the opposite happened. SDR content looks decent but definitely not bright and I didn't see a point to the HDR. In HDR there was a lot of color banding and the colors were washed out along with still not being very bright. Also when in HDR you can't edit the picture settings. On top of that I think the matte finish didn't help it's cause. The monitor also didn't like Fullscreen gaming and would lock the monitor to 120hz, had to switch to borderless windows in order to unlock the screen to 240hz. The only thing it has going for it is the response times, but since I'm not an eSports gamer this didn't really matter. If you're not heavy into eSports do yourself a favor and just get the 42in LG C2, I did and it has way better picture quality.

The matte finish you've applied to previous monitors like the GL850 was universally hated, and criticised. We've waited years for a 27" OLED and you apply the one feature EVERYONE universally hated.

The Anti-Glare, Low-Reflection of the front polarizer on the LG 27'' UltraGear™ OLED Gaming Monitor QHD with 240Hz Refresh Rate 0.03ms Response Time, Model # 27GR95QE-B is not the same as the Haze 25% 3H Surface Treatment used on the LG 27GL850 27'' UltraGear™ Nano IPS 1ms Gaming Monitor with G-Sync® Compatibilityandother LG monitors that use that treatment. How do you turn off ABL on this monitor? I couldn’t care less voiding my warranty for this annoying gimmick. Not my fault that you guys have a hardware limitations unlike Alienware QD or ASUS ROG Oleds.

Asked by: Timmy123
There is no way of turning ABL off on the LG 27'' UltraGear™ OLED Gaming Monitor QHD with 240Hz Refresh Rate 0.03ms Response Time, Model # 27GR95QE-B. That is how OLED Panels work regardless of brand or manufacturer. The power consumption of OLED panels is highly dependent upon the content displayed. With a pure white image, every pixel must be lit, while with a pure black image, every pixel is off. As the display has a maximum power usage, this opens up the capability for OLED displays to allocate more power per pixel to create a higher maximum luminance when not displaying a full-white image. With a low APL on OLED panels, (like a small 1% or 5% window size of white), the maximum peak brightness is usually achieved. This peak brightness then reduces normally as the window size increases, and that is when ABL kicks in. There will be a maximum brightness that the screen can reach and sustain for a pure white image (100% APL), but then if you reduce that APL you’re able to re-allocate power to only the brighter areas and therefore drive up the peak brightness in those situations. The point at which this ABL feature kicks in based on the size of the APL will vary on different panels. So this ABL feature is really a feature of how OLED panels operate. ABL is generally only a factor for HDR content, where the true peak brightness of the panel can be realised...^Ivan

In the display settings, I am only able to select up to 144hz. How do I change it to 240hz?

Asked by: jchow41
Which input are you using on the LG 27'' UltraGear™ OLED Gaming Monitor QHD with 240Hz Refresh Rate 0.03ms Response Time, Model # 27GR95QE-B and does your graphics card support 240 Hz? The monitor supports a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440 @ 240 Hz over its HDMI 2.1 ports and its DisplayPort 1.4 port if your graphics card supports 240 Hz. If 240 Hz is not showing as a selectable refresh rate in a drop list of supported refresh rates, then your graphics card does not support it. Check the specifications for your graphics card...^Ivan
