What people are saying
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect size for Graphic Design apps! This display is a second monitor for me to use when designing. It's size is perfect for running Photoshop and another program on the same screen! I love that I can change the layout using Screen Split 2.0 it's a great option when I need to run 3 programs simultaneously. I haven't tried it for gaming but videos look AWESOME! Just make sure you have room for it.. It's wider than you think.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Overall Great Monitor Has a PBP mode that allows more than one input to be displayed on the same screen... So that means you could have 2 computers that share the same screen at the same time. I've never really been impressed by LG's color accuracy on any of their devices (phones / TV's that I've owned in the past) but this one doesn't really bother me too much. The darks are relatively dark and colors seem to stand out well. The software that emulates more than one monitor that comes with this thing is good, but if you're like me you'll end up frequently disabling it when it's not needed over some minor annoyances. As far as gaming goes... It seems to run very well. I expected to experience some pretty intense frame-rate drops after moving from a standard monitor but it seems like games are about as smooth with this monitor without changing graphics settings. I don't really see any advantage with 75Hz over 60 and in some cases my games look worse... but it's not a very big deal to run them at 60Hz. It comes with a clip for cable management and the stand seems fairly sturdy and secure. Overall a great monitor. I would have liked to see TruMotion incorporated into it but I'm sure not everyone would agree with me.

what is the USB-C used for? Can I connect a USB powered soundbar to this?

Asked by: Borzman
The USB Type-C port on this LG 29" Class 21:9 UltraWide® Full HD IPS LED Monitor (29" Diagonal), Model # 29UM59A-P is about the same size as the Micro-B USB port. It is reversible and you don't have to worry about plugging it in upside down, it will function both ways. It allows for bi-directional power, it's backward compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. As of March 2017, Intel had been testing it to deliver a new USB Audio standard using USB-C as a potential replacement for the 3.5mm audio jack. Regrettably, we do not have enough information on the USB powered SoundBar that you are inquiring about to advise you if it will work with this monitor. You may want to consult your Sound Bar's manufacturer for advice...^IFV

Is It possible to connect.. For example an Xbox via HDMI to HDMI and connect my laptop HDMI to USB type c port of the monitor? Would that work? Would i get both visuals?

Asked by: Preach
You can connect the Xbox thru HDMI to HDMI connection. Just make sure that the Xbox is not HDCP 2.2 compliance as this monitor is not. You can connect the laptop on the monitor, but it’s not guaranteed for you to get a display, it will depend on the adapter or cable that you will use. And if you want to get those two devices on the screen at the same time, its not possible since the monitor doesn’t have PBP (Picture by Picture) Option. For further assistance, please give us a ring at 1-800-243-0000. ^AC
