Discover a more lifelike picture with high dynamic range, which provides bolder contrast between the brightest and darkest areas of the screen. This HDR 600 monitor has been rated to deliver impressive peak luminance of 600 nits for undeniably spectacular highlights.

Nano IPS Display

Impeccable Color

More accurate color and a broader contrast ratio combine to deliver truly high-end picture quality. High dynamic range (HDR) makes bright and dark portions of the image even more so, while Nano IPS controls color better, covering 98% of the DCI-P3 color space, the digital film industry standard.

Color Range with DCI-P3

Editing on-site footage with full color expression is possible with DCI-P3 Digital Cinema Color Standard. It reproduces digital color content just as you intended with the preview camera on site; allowing for accurate conditions like shadow detail, color, saturation & brightness for precise editing & overall control in post-production.

Delicate Color Expression

Nanometer-sized particles on the screen's LED absorb excess light wavelengths, realizing richer color expression that accurately reproduces all content, from actual images and videos to CG.

Thunderbolt™ 3

Simplify setup with a single cable for video/audio plus data transfer, as well as simultaneous laptop charging. Ideal for demanding professionals, this is the most versatile Thunderbolt yet. The compact port enables 40Gbps data and high-bandwidth video, including a 4K signal to two different screens, or 5K/60fps to a single screen.

Faster Speed

What are the HDMI versions of two HDMI connectors? Can they both do 5K2K@60Hz via HDMI; if not, what is the maximal resolution via HDMI? Can Thunderbolt-3 input be used as USB-C DisplayPort instead (similarly to 31MU97)?

Asked by: pere
Both HDMI ports on the LG 34" Class 21:9 UltraWide® 5K2K Nano IPS LED Monitor with HDR 600 (34" Diagonal), Model # 34WK95U-W are HDMI 2.0 ports and both are HDCP 2.2 compliant. The HDMI 2.0 specification increases the bandwidth of the ports to 18Gbps and supports resolutions up to 4K @50/60 (2160p). 5K2K WUHD (5120 x 2160) Resolution is only supported through the Thunderbolt® 3 and DisplayPort (version 1.4). According to Intel, the Thunderbolt® 3 uses the same port type as USB-C which means that every Thunderbolt® 3 port will also work as a USB-C port and every Thunderbolt® 3 cable will work as a USB-C cable...^IFV

When using to this monitor with a MacBook Pro over Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C), is it possible to adjust screen brightness and volume with macOS native system controls? (eg. using brightness buttons on the keyboard or volume sliders on the menu bar)

Asked by: spicyypenguin
No, the monitor has its own settings for the brightness which is under Menu Settings. As for the volume, you will need to choose which speakers to use – either the monitor speakers or Macbook pro speaker. ^AC

Just got a Dell Precision 7530 w/Quadro P3200. It has Thunderbolt 3 ports w/DisplayPort 1.2, and a standalone DP1.4 (non-TB) port. Which would be best to connect this monitor to?

Asked by: MicahY
The LG 34" Class 21:9 UltraWide® 5K2K Nano IPS LED Monitor with HDR 600 (34" Diagonal), Model # 34WK95U-W has a Thunderbolt 3 port and the DisplayPort on it is DisplayPort version 1.4. ThunderBolt 3 ports are fully compatible with DisplayPort devices and cables. ThunderBolt is fully compatible with Mini DisplayPort peripherals and the plugs are basically the same with the only difference being that a Thunderbolt connector can also carry a Thunderbolt signal which is a PCI-Express (4 lines) signal. USB-C is supported through the Thunderbolt 3 port. Thunderbolt 3 is based on the DisplayPort 1.2 specification and can support up to 2 streams (eight lanes) of DisplayPort 1.2 video bandwidth. A single cable now provides four times the data and twice the video bandwidth of any other cable, while also supplying up to 100W of power. One 4K display (4096 x 2160) 30-bit @ 120 Hz One 5K display (5120 x 2880) 30-bit @ 60 Hz Two 4K displays each (4096 x 2160) 30-bit @ 60 Hz . Which one you choose to use will depend on how you are looking to use the monitor...^IFV

Why is the vertical pixel pitch higher than the horizontal ? Is that a mistake in the specifications or are we dealing with non-square pixels ? I certainly hope a standard RGB sub-pixel arrangement is being used.

Asked by: stormsniper
Sometimes referred to as pitch or dot pitch, the pixel pitch is the distance in millimeters from the center of a pixel to the center of the adjacent pixel. On the LG 34" Class 21:9 UltraWide® 5K2K Nano IPS LED Monitor with HDR 600 (34" Diagonal), Model # 34WK95U-W, you have 5120 pixels horizontally and 2160 pixels vertically. Since you have more pixels horizontally compared to how many you have vertically, the distance between the horizontal pixels will be shorter between them compared to the distance between them vertically which is expressed by the pixel pitch of 0.0518 (H) x 0.1554 (V) mm. This does not refer to the whether the pixels are square or rectangular...^IFV

Has the date changed again? I'm asking again because B&H is showing the release date as Oct, 11 2018 now.

Asked by: Karan Patel
The date showing on the B&H Photo's site is the date that they are expecting their availability for the LG 34" Class 21:9 UltraWide® 5K2K Nano IPS LED Monitor with HDR 600 (34" Diagonal), Model # 34WK95U-W. It will not necessarily be the same date that other retail outlets that are selling the motor will have. They may have different delivery dates that affect their date of availability...^IFV
