The LG Music Flow Player is actually quite a robust app. Learn how to use some of the advanced features of the app and make the most of what it can do with your LG Sound Bar.

GET TO KNOW THE HOME SCREEN

Learn more about the home screen of the Music Flow Player app.

  1. Recommendation – Click this area for recommended music.
  2. Streaming Services – This area displays some of the online music streaming services. You can adjust which ones appear here.
  3. Favorites – Click this area to see your favorite songs.
  4. Most Played – Click this area to display the songs most played on the selected speaker.
  5. My Playlists – Click this to see your saved playlists.
  6. Timeline – Click here to see a list of all the songs played on the selected speaker.

HOW TO EDIT THE LIST OF STREAMING SERVICES ON THE HOME SCREEN

  1. Select the checkbox of the Online service you want to see on the home screen
  2. Drag things upwards or downwards to change the order of how they appear.

UNDERSTAND THE FEATURES OF THE SIDE MENU

Get to know the functions of the items in your Music Flow Player app’s side menu. Tap Home in the upper left corner to launch the side menu.

  1. Home – Displays the Home menu.
  2. My Phone – Displays the songs on this smart device.
  3. Music Library – Displays the songs on all connected devices using a Media Server.
  4. Streaming Services – This area displays some of the online music streaming services. You can adjust which ones appear here.
  5. Mood Station – Allows you to choose music based on 15 different mood themes.
  6. Connected Speakers – Displays the speakers that are connected.
  7. Add Speaker – Allows you to connect additional speakers.
  8. Settings – Displays the settings menu.

PLAYING AND ADJUSTING YOUR MUSIC

In a few quick steps you can learn how to play music, manage playlists, and even adjust the sound.

Playing a song

  1. Launch the Music Flow Player app.
  2. Tap the Home menu.
  3. Select My Phone from the slide-out side menu.
  4. Select the desired album.
  5. Select the desired song to play.

NOTE

If the speaker is not selected, the select a speaker pop-up menu will appear. Select your desired speaker to continue with playback.

MANAGING A PLAYLIST

When you have a selected album on our screen, tap the icon with three dots next to the song you would like to add.

  1. Play next – Select this to play your selected song next.
  2. Add to queue – Tap this to add your selected song to your current music queue.
  3. Add to playlist – Select this to add your desired song to a particular playlist.

Adjusting playback

Various features on the playback screen allow you to adjust the music you’re playing.

Adjusting playback

1. Indicates which speaker is currently in use.

2. Displays the current music playing.

Adjusting playback Pressing the repeat icon allows you to cycle through the repeat music function. Every time it is tapped, the repeat state changes from Repeat One, to Repeat All, to Repeat Off—in that order.

Adjusting playback When selected, the shuffle icon will shuffle the music in your playlist and play songs in random order.

Adjusting playback Adjusts the volume.

Adjusting playback Pauses playback.

Adjusting playback Skips fast backward or forward.

Adjusting playback Adjusts the sound effect.

Adjusting playback Tap the icon with three dots to launch the song menu.

Adjusting playback Saves the song to your Favorites. You can access your Favorites from your home screen.

Adjusting playback Searches for more music similar to what’s being played.

SELECTING A SOUND EFFECT

Your speaker has a number of pre-set surround sound settings. You can select your desired sound mode by tapping the music note icon. The displayed items for the equalizer may be different depending on sound sources and effects.

  1. While playing a song, tap the music note icon.
  2. Tap the left and right arrows to cycle through the various sound effect options until you find the one you wish to use.

You can also select a desired sound mode by using the SOUND EFFECT button on your remote control.

USING GROUP PLAYBACK

You can group multiple speakers linked to your Music Flow Player app and play the same music through all of the connected speakers in the same group.

  1. Launch the side menu of your Music Flow Player app and select Connected Speakers.
  2. Connected speaker will appear. Tap the chain link icon on the speaker(s) you wish to link.
  3. The grouping option menu will appear. Tap the checkbox next to the speaker you wish to add and then tap OK.
  4. The grouped speakers are then ready for group playback.

CONNECTING SPEAKERS FOR SURROUND PLAYBACK

You can enjoy surround sound by adding another two speakers. Here’s how to add them.

  1. Launch the side menu of your Music Flow Player app and select Connected Speakers.
  2. Connected speaker will appear. Tap the surround icon on the speaker(s) you wish to add surround sound to.
  3. The surround sound environment menu will appear. Select the connected speakers you wish to use on the left and right and then tap OK.
  4. The speakers are then ready for surround playback.

NOTE

For smooth playback in grouped or surround sound mode, it is recommended to select the speaker connected by a LAN cable as your master speaker. If you select a master speaker that is connected wirelessly, it’s better to choose speakers that are placed in closer proximity to it.

USING SEAMLESS PLAYBACK

Your Music Flow Player app allows you to seamlessly switch from a smart device playing your music to any one of your connected speakers.

  1. If your smart device playing music is carried from outside into a room that has a connected speaker, a pop-up window on the smart device will appear, asking you which speaker you would like to play music through.
  2. Select your desired speaker from the pop-up list and the music you are listening to will be played through without a pause.

NOTE

  • The Wi-Fi function on your smart device must be turned on for seamless playback to work.
  • If your chosen speaker is connected to something using the Portable In port or Bluetooth, seamless playback is not supported.
  • If you are listening to an online streaming service on your smart device, the music you are listening to will be played from the beginning when transferred to your chosen speaker.
