Backup by LG allows users to backup and restore user settings for LG Home screen, Bookmarks, contacts, call logs, on-device calendar events, SMS, systems settings, and application data.
Note: The first time you run Backup you will need to agree to the End User License Agreement.

From the Home Screen, tap Apps
> Backup
> Backup

Tap Internal Storage
to store your backup.

When you select Internal Storage you will be notified that your backup (and all files) will be deleted from your phone. Tap OK to continue. Always back up your internal storage to a PC before performing a factory reset.

Tap Add new to create a new backup, name your backup in the prompt, then select Continue.

each item you would like to backup on your phone. You can select from the following:
- Applications - Downloaded
- Applications - Pre-installed
- Bookmarks - Web browser bookmarks
- Calendar - Not including synced calendars
- Call log - Outgoing, incoming and missed
- Contacts - Not including synced contacts
- Home screen - Wallpaper, Icons, Widgets
- Messages - SMS, MMS
- System Settings

Tap Continue to begin backup process. You will be prompted when the backup is complete, select Continue to exit the application.
Note: After a factory data reset, the backup files (and all files) will be deleted. Before a factory reset you will need to move/copy the backup files to a PC.

Connect your phone to a PC using a MicroUSB cable (you may use the cable attached to your LG charger).

Once connected, you may be prompted on your phone to select a USB connection type, select Media sync (MTP).

On the PC, open My computer or Computer\LG-LS970\Internal storage\Backup.

Right mouse click on the backup file (ending with .sbf) and select Copy.

Select a location on the PC to save the file to, right mouse click in that location and select Paste to save the backup file to the PC.

Connect your phone to a PC using a MicroUSB cable (you may use the cable attached to your LG charger).

Once connected, you may be prompted on your phone to select a USB connection type, select Media sync (MTP).

On the PC, right mouse click on the backup file (ending with .sbf) you previously saved on your PC and select Copy.

Open My computer or Computer\LG-LS970\Internal storage\Backup.

Right mouse click in that location and select Paste to save the backup file to your phone.

From the Home Screen, tap Apps

Tap Internal Storage

Tap the backup you would like to restore.

Note: Restoring a backup will overwrite any information saved on your phone. To continue you will need to select Restore when prompted.

Select Restore to begin process. You will be prompted when the restore is complete, select Yes to exit the application and restart your phone.

From the Home Screen, tap Apps

Tap Internal Storage

Select the backup frequency by checking one of the following, then tap Continue.
- Never
- Daily
- Weekly - Checkmark days to backup
- Every two weeks - Select what day
- Monthly - Select day of month
- Backup Start time - Set backup time
