Operation Cell Phones Last Updated 04/18/2018

To use Wi-Fi on your phone, you need access to a wireless access point, or "hotspot." Some access points are open and you can simply connect to them. Others are hidden or implement other security features, so you must configure your phone in order to connect to them.

  1. From the Home Screen, tap Apps   > Settings   > Wi-Fi

Note: A Wi-Fi tutorial prompt will display. Checkmark Don't show this again to not show the tutorial when accessing Wi-Fi setup again. Tap Continue for a guided tutorial. If you are already connected to a network, the tutorial will skip to the end and state Done. Tap Close tutorial to skip and do manual setup.

  1. Tap the Wi-Fi switch to turn on Wi-Fi and begin scanning for available access points. A list of available Wi-Fi networks will be displayed. Secured networks are indicated by a lock icon

  2. Tap a network to connect to it:

  • If the network is open, you will automatically be connected to the network.
  • If the network is secured, you are prompted to enter a password or other credentials. (As your network administrator for details). Scroll up for additional options. When finished tap Connect.
  1. The icon in the Status Bar shows you're connected.

Note: Tap the Menu key  to access additional options.
