What People Are Saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Upgrade This TV replaced an older Smart TV. New picture is definitely better, but I am a little disappointed. Lot's of adjustments available, so maybe I just need to fine tune better. Sound is just OK and there seems to be no way to change the sound from the standard setting. I'll be contacting customer services and seeking assistance. Our family likes to watch TV with a quality picture and a super sound. This TV is on the right track, but I'm not sure it is going to live up to it's hype!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best TV I have ever owned The depth of field within the picture produced by this TV is truly astonishing. Colors are bright and vibrant without any bleed over to adjacent pixels. The true black contrast is an absolute game changer and I won't buy anything but OLED screen from now on. My only issue is that this model does not support Google Assistant, however that issue has been resolved with the newer generation model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best picture, bar none. My experience with this OLED has been smooth and pleasing. I bought it after experiencing countless problems with a flat panel of another well known brand which even involved a complete warranty replacement ... that didn't work right, either. So, LG got me on the rebound. It's been 2 years of blissful viewing. And I expecially love the absolutely pitch-blacks. Most people don't appreciate how that affects contrast and "punch". It's hard to tell in the showroom at a Best Buy where there's so much ambient flourescent lighting that you're apt to light on the "brightest" picture (and every set is cranked up to max). I've seen carping by high-end reviewers that OLED's don't put out as much light as other technology, but I can say that my LG, when it's reproducing an HDR feed from Netflix can be almost blindingly bright. I've shown my friends, and enticed several of them to buy an LG OLED, too ... and every one of them is happy with it. OK: Downside? Every once in awhile, I "miss" aiming the remote at an onscreen icon and get an input I didn't want. Annoying. Oh, boo-hoo!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4K Dolby Vision plus Dolby Atmos looks and sound Ok I have researched the LG B8 55" OLED for like 2 weeks straight and eventually bought it last Thursday, October 18, 2018. I think this tv is excellent especially the picture. I been testing it for 72 hours and really nothing failed. There could be much more apps to the smart TV hub. I am a cord cutter and subscribe to a few of the following Hulu Live TV, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, and pay extra for no ads on YouTube Premium. Therefore, I looked for Dolby Vision plus Dobly Atmos programming and found some onNetflix. As you can tell I added some pictures to show that whatever HDR programming you are watching a little logo pops on the top right of your screen states your current HDR mode. HDR 10 is also working on select programs, plus, as you know it supports HLG HDR as found some from YouTube. The colors are bright and colorful while the black is deep blackness if that make sense. A little note: If you have Direct Tv and have those three 4K channels, it will usually use HLG HDR, and the picture looks great. I am about to disconnect from satellite some time next week and so had time to use those 3 channels. I am a music lover at heart and the speakers that has Dobly Atmos software with the tv sounds really rich. Like for example on YouTube the bass comes in thundering and that's on speakers level 35, just imagine at 60+ plus level. Finally, I would recommend this LG B8 OLED TV especially if you haven't took the 4K jump yet and if not this is the tv to buy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Burn I bought my tv 2 years ago. It was great until the burn problem surfaced after a year of use. I had an extended warranty but it proved to be worthless for dealing with the burn issue. So, I have a tv that cost several thousand dollars that displays a particular network’s logo on the screen no matter whether I watch that network or not. When I purchased this OLED65B6P I had no idea that this was even a possibility of occurring. When I called LG to complain about the problem, I was first told that this doesn’t happen. Then, when I convinced them it had indeed happened, they’ said it was not covered by the extended warranty. I won’t ever buy another LG product again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great TV until burn in occurs Burn in after about a year to year and half of use. Starts with a a slight green tint across the bottom. My TV is just starting to show it, but I know others with the exact same TV were it has gotten very bad

Asked by: navman
The LG B6 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # OLED55B6P can be paired with most Bluetooth Headsets and headphones but is not guaranteed to work with all of them. My PC is plugged into B6P with 2.2 HDMI cable (4k 60fps). When I turn my game to any resolution above 1080p with Vsync, FPS is capped to 30. Does this T.V. support > 30FPS @ > resolutions 1080p? If so, what am I doing wrong? I have it in game mode.

Asked by: Sohnsat
I think Amber missed your question. The 2016 LG OLED models do not support frame rates above 30fps for the 2160p modes. Your console is properly adjusting for this.

the 120hz it serves for any kind from content??? sports, movies, videogames...

Asked by: Kimba SSJ5
Hi Kimba SSJ5. You'll have to pardon us, but we don't quite understand your question about the LG B6 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # OLED55B6P. The TV has a 120 Hz panel, the source footage is never greater than 60Hz. When you watch a movie on Blu-ray, it's a 1080p picture at 60Hz. The disc displays 60 interlaced or 30 progressive frames at 1,920-by-1,080 resolution per second of video. For movies that were recorded on film, the original footage is actually 24 frames per second, upconverted to 30 frames through a process known as 2:3 pulldown. It distributes the source frames so they can be spread across 30 instead of 24 frames per second. Those frames are then interlaced (combined and shuffled) to 60 "frames" per second to match the 60Hz refresh rate of the vast majority of TVs you can buy today. American TVs have displayed 30 (actually, 29.97) frames per second and functioned at 60Hz since time immemorial. It's not really a problem, because between interlacing and frame pulldown, the process doesn't attempt to add information to the picture. It's simply converting it to function on the TV, because it wouldn't work otherwise...^IFV

When is the patch coming to fix the issues with Dolby vision black levels for the B6 series?

Asked by: Gman1031
Hi Gman1031. The LG B6 OLED 4K HDR Smart TV - 65" Class (64.5" Diag), Model # OLED65B6P and all our OLEDS will soon receive an update that addresses that issue. Regrettably we don't have a date yet as we are currently doing some internal testing for the fix. Dolby admitted at CES in January that there has been an issue with playing Dolby Vision sources over HDMI that finds black levels suddenly reducing dramatically with certain dark scenes content. LG has been diligently working with Dolby to address the issue and confirmed during a conference on LG's 2018 TVs in Madrid, on March 21, that LG has received a second profile update from Dolby that’s designed to resolve the remaining issues with playing Dolby Vision over HDMI....^IFV
