What People Are Saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just like being there I bought this tv on Black Friday for a great price. I put it up at the beginning of January and the picture is so clear!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fatal flaw Worked great for two years, but there is a fatal flaw. The plastic hinges holding the lid of the air filter on top of the canister break. The hinges become brittle and thin, not a matter of usage. My vacuum was still under warranty, but LG could not replace or fix it because the model is discontinued and they no longer had the part. I ended up buying a used part off eBay. After a few months, the same hinges broke again when opening the lid for the first time. Again, the plastic just became brittle and fell apart. Impossible to glue because it keeps crumbling, so definitely defective material. This is unacceptable for a vacuum at this price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great vacuum with several years use The LUV250C Compressor is excellent, especially for pets. It is smaller and lighter than the LUV300 model, therefore more convenient for use on a regular basis. Has the same major features including prefilter and HEPA filter. The handle actually has a better design and doubles as the wand. The main feature it lacks is the retractable cord, but otherwise works the same with less weight. Carpet use is the best with good suction and pick up of pet hair. Floor use is average when pushing, but the wand works very well. If you add a wider floor nozzle it is great. The multi-filtering system leaves the air smelling clean, not musty after use. The dust bin holds a large amount of dirt and detaches with the touch of a button. I usually take it outside and dump in the garbage can. Occasionally, you may beed to clean the dust bin and various parts by rinsing with soapy water. The hinged lid to the dust bin which also serves as the carry handle finally broke after four years. While disappointed, I called LG and was quickly told it was covered by the 5-year warranty so they would replace it at no cost. I would say these plastic parts are the weak link for any vacuum cleaner brand, so LG is no different. Yet, a 5-year warranty on parts is far above average.

There is a silver on/off button beside the red on/off button. Press this, and the beater bar will not rotate.

What is the air hole on the back bottom right for

Our vacume seems to keep pushing air out ot this hole. It is not in any of the maunls and now the hand tool wont work when it does this. Why is it there?
Asked by: jusnyder
It sounds as if this may be a matter of the flexible hose assembly not being properly connected to the internal hose assembly. If this is the case, then the suction air will allow the air to escape and not allow the hand tool to work. If this is not able to be corrected, then the unit may require service. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to make proper service arrangements for this unit.

Why does my pet hair turbine brush no longer work?

I have taken it apart & put it back together again. Everything moves freely including the little mini-belt. There is nothing impeding the brushes. There is adequate suction. When we first bought it, it would take an enormous amount of pressure on the stairs to stall it out. Now, it barely moves at all & stalls out easily with hardly any pressure. This is really inconvenient because this unique feature (turbine nozzle) is mainly why we bought the vacuum for pet hair
Asked by: Anonymous
It is difficult to say why this component is not operating as it did. Check the filters on the unit to make sure they are all clear. Clear the tank to ensure it is also not causing a problem. If these do not resolve the matter, then there may be a problem with the motor. In that case, it is recommended to contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to make proper service arrangements.

Where do I store the turbine brush?

I have three levels of floors. Need the turbine brush to do the stairs in between. I don't like that I will have to retrieve it all the time. I bought this vacuum for its cinnamon color, it was on clearance and I got an additional 20% off from the store. Really because it is one of the lighter models and I have to take it up and down the stairs. The hose could have been a little longer, but I only have 8 stairs between levels. If you would like input on designing a new model just let me know.
Asked by: Anonymous
There does not appear to be a location on the unit for storing the turbine brush for this model. We appreciate your feedback regarding this new vacuum cleaner. We encourage feedback from our customers and continuously strive to improve our products and our service. Your comments will be added to our system and forwarded to our factory design team for consideration.

My vacuum is starting to smell what can i do about it

Asked by: Anonymous
This depends upon what type of smell you are experiencing. If you are experiencing a “burned rubber” smell, then it would be recommended to check the agitator rotor brush and its belt. Make sure these are not clogged and seized up. If that is not the type of smell, then it is recommended to check and clean the different filters that are on this unit. This vacuum has about 4 different filters that would need to be cleaned. The dust tank may also need to be cleaned.

what is wrong when it shuts off when upright?

no vacuum suction but roller still fluffs carpet
Asked by: Anonymous
If the agitator is not spinning with vacuum in the upright position, this is normal. To begin vacuuming, first press the On/Off switch then using your foot pressthe left side pedal to place the vacuum in the cleaning position. If the agitator Is still not turning press the “Carpet/Floor” button.Even if the power switch is “On” the agitator will not spin until the vacuum is on the cleaning position. Power Cord gets hot

I have the Kompressor for Pet Hair. When using this fabulous vacuum which does indeed get ALL the cat hair off my woolen rugs, the power cord gets hot. Not to hot to touch but very warm. Should it be replaced?
Asked by: Anonymous
It is normal for the power cord on any electrical device to warm to a certain degree, simply due to the electrical flow running through it. Additional information on the situation would be needed in order to determine if this is actually a manufacturing issue. If you believe this to be heated more than normal, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

is there a non motorized upholstery brush available

Asked by: Anonymous
Thank you for contacting LG. On the LuV250C the unit comes with Pet Hair Turbine Tool. This tool is not motorized but powered by the force of air being pulled through the tool into the vacuum. It is used for cleaning items such as stairs and interiors, as well at removing pet hair, lint, etc. from fabrics and carpets.

Blows hot air out front exhaust fan, vacuum is new. Anything I can fix or is it defective?

Ive noticed that it blows all the dust and dog hair away as Im trying to get after it. I noticed in a previous question that it may be the damper, but the vacuum is brand new, is there anything I can do to repair it or does it need to be serviced?

Why does hot air blow out the front?

Asked by: Haze
Different factors can cause hot air to blow out of the front. The vacuum has a damper located on the back of the unit. If the unit has a clog in the main intake, the damper will open to release the air pressure and suction to relieve the motor. The customer should not mess with this part as it will function on its own. Full or clogged dust tank? When the dust tank is full, the inhaling power is decreased and lowers the pickup capacity. Therefore, try not to exceed the line indicated as max on the dust tank. When the dust tank is clogged, it also decreases the inhaling power and lowers the pickup capacity, so please look into the clogged area and remove the clogging object with reference to the owner’s manual. Dust tank improperly installed? When the dust tank is not properly installed, the air may be leaked causing the lowering of the inhaling power. Please verify if the dust tank is properly installed. If you continue to experience this problem, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for additional trouble shooting steps or service. is there a missing bolt or screw that keeps the handle in place?

The LuV250C does not require any bolts for assembly. The wand is held to the arm by a wand release button. Please make sure that the handle is aligned properly with the arm allowing the button to click into the handle. Design, features and specifications subject to change without notice.
