What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE THE CAPACITY Bought the washer and drier to replace an aging LG pair I had for 12 years. The new washer and dryer are comparable to a comercial washer and dryer, the capacityy is great and the cloths come clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I Love This Washer This is our first front load washer and we were concerned about purchasing one. A trusted Appliance Repair Tech told us not only is a front loader washer better and more efficient then a top loader but that the LG was a super great washer to buy into. After having the wash now for the past several months, we can not agree more with our Appliance Repair Tech! This washer does a standard load of cloths in 35 minutes and they come out perfectly clean. Super quite and easy to use! The only sad issue is that I see that this washer model is "Discontinued"? Perhaps it's replacement is even better? In conclusion, we are very pleased with purchasing this LG Washer!

How is the WM3900HBA different than than the WM8100HVA in terms of features and performance?

Asked by: Masonnyc1
The Energy Star Qualified LG 4.5 cu.ft. It also features TurboWash™ 360 Technology and an updated version of TurboWash, (TurboWash® 2.0 Technology) and has a lower IWF (Integrated Water Factor) of 2.9 versus 3.2 for the WM8100HVA. My husband works in a hospital as a housekeeper. Sometimes he brings home bed bugs on his clothes. Will the deep steam cycle kill bed bugs?

Asked by: Mustang Anne
The Sanitary cycle on the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 5.2 cu. ft. Mega Capacity TurboWash® Washer with Steam Technology, Model # WM8100HVA is NSF certified under Protocol P172 (Sanitization Performance of Residential and Commercial, Family Sized Clothes Washers) to remove at least 95 percent of house dust mite allergens and feline dander. The wash water must reach 55º C (131º F, the temperature required to kill dust mites) for at least three minutes and the washer must be easily cleanable, corrosion resistant and designed to avoid accumulation of dirt and debris. Similarly, its matching Electric and Gas Dryers, (Model # DLEX8100V and Model # DLGX8101V) have Anti Bacterial cycles that are also NSF certified under Protocol P154 (Sanitization Performance of Residential Clothes Dryers) to reduce 99.9% of bacteria on laundry and that none of the bacteria will carry over onto the next laundry load. The default settings for the Anti Bacterial cycle ate High Temperature and Very Dry. To provide optimum washing performance, it is recommended that you set your water heater at 120-135°F (48-57°C) and the cold at 60°F (15°C). If you have never adjusted your water heater temperature, it will be set at 135°F or 140°F which is the default setting for most water heater manufacturers. Bed bugs exposed to 113°F will die if they receive constant exposure to that temperature for 90 minutes or more. However, they will die within 20 minutes if exposed to 118°F. Interestingly, bed bug eggs must be exposed to 118°F for 90 minutes to reach 100% mortality. Both the hot water temperature settings high temperature settings for the dryers exceed these temperatures and will kill bed bugs and bed bug eggs...^IFV
