What people are saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rip off - Do Not Purchase! I purchased my first LG appliances, a top loaded washer (WT1501CW) and matching dryer on November 24, 2017 at Home Depot. What a mistake!. The washer was being used about one a week for a household of two people. We never overloaded the washer or encountered an error code but the washer has failed to clean even lightly soiled clothing. After calling customer service, performing remote diagnostics I agreed to schedule a service call for $125.00. I was told that the LG technician carries parts and would be able to diagnose and repair the washer. The LG technician told me that the washing machine needed a new clutch. Incredibly the LG Technician advised me that I should not repair the machine as it would likely breakdown again. I was shocked at his candor but realized he has first hand knowledge of the poor quality of these units. To poor salt in the wound he told be that the repair fee would be in addition to the $125 fee I paid and that my initial payment would not be credited towards the repair. Later in the day he emailed be a repair quote of $444 for a washer I paid $499 on sale at Home Depot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Off Balance Have had this model for years. An almost constant battle with the washing machine no matter the size load that always saying its not balanced to do the spin cycle. At first we thought we had to just get use to this washer and we weren't loading it properly or just loading to much. But that never changed. Wish I hadn't purchased a washer with TrueBalance™ Anti-Vibration System.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Washing Machine imploded or exploded We purchased a washing machine with this model less than 3 years ago. This morning there was a loud noise like the house was falling down. The outside walls of the machine were bulging out and the inside detergent components blew out. A case was filed and will take 3-5 business days for anyone to contact us. Then two different people need to come to the house to investigate. The timeframe for resolution is unknown. No one can give us information until we are contacted. We do not know whether to just buy a new washing machine because we cannot be without a washer for an extended period of time. Our current model is no longer available so our washing machine and dryer may not not match.

what does troubleshooting code 'CL' mean?

Asked by: Husker1013
The child lock option is used to disable the controls. This feature prevents children from changing cycles or operating the machine. Once the child lock is set, it must be deactivated before any controls, except the power button can be used. Once the washer has shut off, the power button will allow the machine to be turned on, but the controls will still be locked. Press and hold the Soil Level button for 3 seconds to activate or deactivate child lock.

Does the nipple on the hot water connection come off

Asked by: jamorjr
The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 4.5 cu.ft. Capacity Top Load Washer with Front Control Design, Model # WT1150CW does not come with the hot and cold water inlet hoses as included accessories. They have to be purchased separately. The 3/4" connectors on either end of the recommended hot and cold water inlet hoses (Part # 5215FD3715U: Hot water hose and Part # 5215FD3715V: Cold water hose) are attached to the hoses and do not come off...^IFV

i have this model and the problem is the water pressure is too low to operate the machine (per tech) it has worked for 2 1/2 years with the same water pressure the tech will not work on the machine until we get the water pressure higher what can i do?

Asked by: joseph mckay
Check the screens inside the water connections. If you have galvanized water piping in the house, rust will dislodge from the pipe and the screen will filter it before it goes into the washer.

On pg 17 step 7 references the add garments light.  Where does that illuminate and how long does it take to illuminate once I hit start?

Asked by: AnnieB61
Hello, the Add Garment light is located on the time and status display to the left of the load sensing icon. It will illuminate once the machine is done with its initial sensing of the load. ^AC

My washer is leaving the clothes dirty, I have had a smart diagnostic done and it appears to be no issues but my clothes are coming out dirty. What should I do ?

Asked by: Virginiaflores12
How to Get the Best Results From a HE Top Load Washer: >>Always use a laundry detergent with the HE label. These products are formulated to create fewer suds which is important since so much less water is used. Many manufacturers will not honor the machine's warranty if you have not used the correct type of detergent. You can safely use homemade laundry products because they do not produce extensive sudsing. >>Use less detergent. More is not better when there is less water in the mix. Most loads only require one to two teaspoons of he liquid laundry detergent or one single-dose pack. If you do not use the automatic detergent dispensers, place the detergent in the bottom of the drum BEFORE you add your dirty clothes. All single dose laundry packs must be placed in the bottom of the washer - never the dispenser. This will give the detergent the longest amount of time in the water to help get your clothes clean. >>When you load an HE top load washer, do not pile the clothes in the center. Evenly distribute the dirty clothes around the edges of the wash plate. This will help balance the load more quickly and speed the wash cycle. For best performance, load clothes as shown in manual on page 14. Load clothes loosely, and do not load clothes over the maximum guideline on the tub. Clothes need room to circulate in order to get clean. Drop us a line on Twitter at @LGUSSupport, on Facebook www.facebook.com/LGSupportUSA if you need any other assistance. ^AC
