What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a machine We upgraded from a 5.0 to this 5.7 cf washer. What a difference. This LG is great. The cycle times are a little longer than the smaller machine but that’s to be expected with the greater capacity.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed We bought this washing machine at the end of December 2018. As of 3/14/19 it stopped working. No power nothing. I’m on my 3rd service appt today 3/26/19. We spent all this money on a washer that worked for less than 3 months. Not to mention not being able to wash clothes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful!! I’ve had this machine now for just short of 3 weeks and I’ve been able to wash various size loads without issue. Best is that there is no center agitator to wind clothes around or get them wound around. Efficiency is a major bonus as it fills with only the amount of water needed, no more guessing if the load is extra small, medium or super.

I work at a gypsum wall board plant so my working clothes gets fill with dirt, dust and stucco every day what option can I use to get rid of the touph stains I've tryd heavy duty heavy soil I tryd adding more soap  what is recommended for cleaner clothes?

Asked by: Arnoldo92
Regardless of whether you wash your clothes in the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 5.7 Cu.Ft. Mega Capacity Top Load Washer With TurboWash® Technology, Model # WT7700HVA or any other washing machine, until you are able to get rid of the gypsum on your clothes, you probably will never get them as clean as you would like. A variety of magnesium and calcium compounds in water cause it to be hard e.g. magnesium sulfate (forms Epsom Salts), calcium sulfate (gypsum), magnesium hydrogen carbonate and calcium hydrogen carbonate from dissolved limestone. Gypsum dissolves slightly in your water, making it hard and hard water forms a scum from the dissolved calcium compounds. The scum is a precipitate formed from those insoluble calcium soap salts, instead of a nice frothy lather. Eventually, with enough soap, a lather does form, when all the calcium and magnesium ions have been precipitated as a 'scum salt'! However, it does mean a lot of soap is wasted! You will need to find a way to get rid of the gypsum on your clothes first before introducing them into the washing machine. Some detergents may contain chemical agents that stop scum precipitates from forming, effectively incorporating a 'water softener', so you may want to shop around for those or ask about water sofeteners that you might be able to use...^IFV

I just filled the fabric softener spot with fabric softener and it immediately, and completely, dripped through the bottom of the dispenser onto all of the clothes.  This has never happened before, any ideas what caused this?

Asked by: Erinmh02
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. The most common cause of the symptoms described is for the dispenser tray to have some manner of buildup which keeps the tray from closing. It is recommended to remove the dispenser tray, wash it in hot water, and then test it again. If this does not resolve the matter, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 for additional suggestions.

Keep in mind that the Delicates and Hand Wash cycle have the same agitation speed and the difference between the two is how long each cycle agitates at one time. The Delicates cycle will fill then agitate on low speed for the entire wash portion of the cycle whereas the Hand Wash cycle pauses the agitation during the cycle. Is it recommended to leave the lid on the washer open when not in use?  Also, how do I use the add a garment feature?

Asked by: Erinmh02
We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. Yes, it is recommended to leave the washer lid open between cycles in order to allow the remaining moisture to evaporate. The Add Garment light will illuminate near the beginning of the wash cycle to indicate when it is safe to add items to the load. Press the START/PAUSE button to pause the cycle and add garments to the load. Press the START/PAUSE button to resume the cycle. It is not recommended to add items unless the Add Garment light is illuminated, as this could result in poor performance and/or clothing damage.

What does LEI. Mean on the display window

Asked by: Angel56
We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. According to page 47 of the owner’s manual, the LE1 code denotes the possibility that foreign objects, such as coins, pins, clips, etc. have gotten caught between the wash plate and the inner wash basket. Turn off the washer and then press the POWER button. Press the SPIN SPEED button without selecting a cycle to drain and spin the load. When the spin is complete, remove the clothes and then find and remove any objects caught in the wash plate. Can I use my downy fabric softener ball in this washer? I know it has a fabric softener tray but I like to use a little more than that.

Asked by: Ashleysween
I apologize, but no; during a tumble cycle, such as in a dryer, the free falling of an item, like a ball, can impact the walls of the drum, causing dents and possible breaks in the wall of the tub. Fabric softener should be used from the appropriate dispenser cup in the washing machine.

How much water does a normal load use?

Asked by: Marrocco11
The amount of water used in the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 5.7 Cu.Ft. Mega Capacity Top Load Washer With TurboWash® Technology, Model # WT7700HVA will depend on several factors. LG washers take variables such as selected cycle, the load size, the load weight, fabric types, fabric thickness, amount of suds, water temperature and more. These variables may extend the duration of the cycle as it may require more water or take more time to absorb the water. This washer has a feature called the Auto Suds Removal which is a feature that is activated if the machine detects too many suds in the unit. It is automatically activated without selecting any option. When activated, the unit will drain and add water to dilute the concentration of detergent. If too much detergent is used, it is possible for this feature to be activated multiple times within the same wash cycle and each activation adds 12 minutes to the cycle. Based on the Integrated Water Factor as calculated by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) test procedures, this washer will have a total weighted per-cycle water consumption of 18.24 gallons/cycle/cubic feet...^IFV

Will not agitate, just spins on wash cycle

Asked by: Bigmike61

The height with lid open on website says about 52" and the manual downloaded says about 59". The dryer says 52". What is the correct height?

Asked by: Packincheese
We appreciate your interest in this washing machine. The information listed on our website shows a diagram with an Open-Door measurement of 55.75”. The specifications sheet downloaded from the website shows an Open Lid measurement of 55.75”. The diagram, on page 8 of the downloaded owner’s manual, does show a different measurement, but this looks to be a generic page which may have been copied from the manual of another model. Either way, as the owner’s manual states that a minimum vertical space, from the floor to overhead shelves, cabinets, ceilings, etc. is 60”, either measurement would be compatible.

Sometimes my washer won't power on between loads?

Asked by: Keating
Hi, my LG washer occasionally does the same thing, but I just push the power button a couple of times and it comes right on. I've had my washer for 6 years and it's done the power thing about 20 times over the 6 years. Also, check the cord. It may have vibrated loose. That's happened to me too. I wash a huge amount of laundry every week. It's bound to happen. Good luck!
