REFRIGERATOR MAINTENANCE Both the refrigerator and freezer sections defrost automatically. However, clean both sections about once a month to prevent odors. Be sure to wipe up any spills immediately if they happen. For models with a stainless steel exterior, use a residential grade stainless steel cleaner that is not too abrasive. Do not use a commercial or powder stainless steel cleaner. You may also use a clean sponge or soft cloth and a mild detergent in warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners. Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth. Do not use cleaning waxes, concentrated detergent, or cleaners containing petroleum on plastic refrigerator parts such as door liners or gaskets. To remove odors from the inside of the refrigerator, mix 2 tablespoons of baking soda with 1 quart of water (26 grams of baking soda per Liter of water). Be sure that the baking soda dissolves completely into the mixture so it does not scratch the surfaces of the refrigerator. |
