FROST BUILDUP FORMING ON THE

CEILING OF FREEZER COMPARTMENT

Frost buildup forming on the ceiling of the freezer

Cause

Frost buildup can form on the ceiling of the freezer compartment when door is not tightly shut

especially in humid summer weather or when cool air leaks out.

This is due to encounter of hot air (outside) and cool air (inside) when door is opened and closed.

It occurs more frequently during summer months or when humidity level peaks.

The phenomenon will attenuate greatly then disappear once weather cools down.
Sudden formation of icicles is usually due to a door not closing tightly.

Troubleshooting

Check stored food and shelf assembly from any obstruction to ensure doors can be closed firmly

and freely. Clean icicles on the ceiling with a warm towel once door can be shut firmly tight.
