WATER LEAKING FROM OPENED

CONTAINER

Has hot food (in an opened container) been stored in the

refrigerator?

Cause

First and foremost, water leakage can occur when containers in the refrigerator are not tightly

closed and content, mostly humidity, spills over. When hot food gets stored in the refrigerator,

it inevitably comes into contact with cold air creating condensation. Water leakage can also occur

when refrigerator door is not closed firmly.

Troubleshooting

1. Put high moisture food or those in liquid state in sealed containers.

2. When outside air enters the refrigerator due to excessive food storage or shelf location hindering

proper closing of door, it can cause water or frost to form, resulting in water leakage.

3. Cool hot food before placing it in the refrigerator.
