What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Painful to purchase, hard to regret. I bought this monitor just over a fortnight ago, and I'm still utterly astounded. The design is excellent, the quality is incredible, and the build is solid. I'm currently studying a degree in TV & Film, with the aspiration of becoming a full time editor, so this monitor seemed like a no-brainer with its large resolution, deep colour output and compatibility with colour sensors. I've not got a bad thing to say about it - even the speakers on it are of decent quality! Even when playing games this monitor succeeds to impress me. In tandem with a GTX 970, I get AT LEAST a comfortable 60FPS through DisPort, on games such as Tomb Raider (2013) and War Thunder. In combination with the high FPS, the enhanced resolution and colour depth make them all that much more enjoyable. As I say, the hefty price tag might've pained me to actually go and buy one - but I know that I won't look back.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for me, might not be for you To start off, I love this monitor. I'm an English major working on my Master's, and being able to put up multiple screens at the same time is magic. I can read a PDF file, browse an academic database online, and write a paper simultaneously. As others have mentioned, this monitor is great for video and photo editing as well, although I haven't used this for either of those things. I play games as well, and here is where a few problems arise. Not every game will be able to adjust to the resolution that this monitor can put out. Sad but true. The games that do support it look amazing though! Windows 10 has messed with the settings recently, so I cannot use my display port. Because of this I'm not getting the best out of it right now. Also, the split screen feature that the monitor provides (which works great) does not work in Windows 10. Hopefully LG will update the program soon, and hopefully Microsoft will update Windows 10 to include use of the display port soon. Hope is a fickle thing. Do you want this monitor? Think about why you want it first. You may want to reconsider if it's for games. If it's for functionality and multitasking, look no further (although, you may consider the lower resolution).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 'The monitor' for word processing and photographs I have had this monitor for 6 months and gave a considerable thought prior to purchase. Checked monitors in the shops read multiple reviews. I was very sure that i wanted an IPS monitor (my first ever IPS was a HP and still works), and anything more than 24 inches monitor. I am also not a fan of Dell as have been bitten by some not so good experiences. I ended up with this one, never purchased LG before however I have been converted. LG makes amazing monitors. Mine worked fab right out of the box and my work has been transformed. I do a lot of document work and need references so can open 2-4 screens in one go. I can open the internet in one browser in one half and write and reference in the other on word - saves time. I also do number crunching on EXCEL and SPSS and for once I can open the whole numbers sheet with everything in view. This is truly fantastic. Photo editing is so easy - I can pixel peep and have the tools to edit all at one and the same time. Re dead pixels - no issues. colour rendition is great for my use (i am not a pro). no gaming so 60Hz is good enuff for my use I will finish off by saying this - yes you can get better resolution monitors but how often do you get excited by using a 'new' monitor. This is the 'exciting monitor' - the size and usability is something i have never used before and makes the whole experience fun. thought shud leave this review looking at all the negative reviews. thank you LG

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dreadful service, monitor has disappeared, no comm This product was faulty on arrival, having an obvious magenta discolouration on the screen when powered on. After navigating the tortuous LG customer response process, it was agreed that the monitor should be repaired. The monitor was collected on 16 January 2015. Since then, six weeks ago, there has been absolutely no communication from LG and I have been without the use of the monitor that I paid nearly £1000 for. This is completely unacceptable. What are you going to do about it? Also, why is this review page titled 'Mobile Phone with Slim Profile, 5 MP Camera, Neon Touch Navigation, and Touch Media'? This shows how much in touch LG customer care actually are.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lovely monitor. Persistent faults This is a superb monitor. The colours are fantastic and the form factor is excellent for work and games. My experience has been marred slightly by the lines of dead pixels appearing intermittently. These don't prevent me from working but they can be annoying. I expect this will be fixed the next time it goes in for repair so no problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Potentially great product ... Bought 2 of these and both of them were faulty. Now I've got 2 at home and will cost me a fortune to return them. Will never buy anything from LG again !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally !! Wow, what can I say, this is an absolutely fantastic monitor. I went crazy and bought two ... yeeeeha ... Mac Pro with Thunderbolt 2 to each monitor and I am in heaven. Simply put I couldn't be happier. My only complaint, and I mean only complaint, would be the lack of one-touch volume keys. The single joystick is fantastic for everything else, it works great, is in a great position, easy to use, responsive; but before I hooked up my external speakers to the Mac Pro I was running the headphones through the monitor, and the only volume control was through a few clicks of the joystick. Again, it's not an issue as I could turn the volume up/down on the video/audio player. However, that being said, I do not buy a monitor for sound quality, so it is a non-issue and I am still rating this an absolute 5/5 because it is simply awesome. Use the right tool for the job is what my old man always said, and if you need screen space with a high quality display and bright and brilliant color that is Thunderbolt 2, lightning quick, and simply gorgeous ... then this is the monitor for you. Enjoy
