Why do I have to agree to LG’s Privacy Policy to use certain functions on my TV?

function Function

Some Smart TV functions need information about how your TV is used in order to operate and improve. An example is LG’s 3-D World service, which streams movies to your television. Unless your TV tells us what content you’ve selected for viewing, it can’t be streamed. Another example is LG’s personalised viewing recommendations. Because we want to provide relevant suggestions, our automated recommendations are based in part on what’s already watched. That’s the way we suggest other shows and movies that you might like. Before LG can make these kinds of features available, we want to make sure that you agree to have your Smart TV transmit the necessary information to LG.
