[LG Air Conditioner Heating] Cooling suddenly feels not strong enough. Indoor temperature does not increase

Troubleshooting

Causes and Symptoms

  • Vent window for the outdoor unit room is closed.
  • Target temperature is set low.
  • Filter is severely clogged with dusts.
  • Wind angle is adjusted upward.
  • Use the Reserve function.
  • Outdoor unit is covered with snows.

Try this

Is the vent window or gallery to the outdoor unit room closed?

➔ When using cooling mode, open the ventilation window or gallery in the outdoor unit room so that the heat from the outdoor unit can pass to the outside.

You should adjust the louver angle for the vent window as close to levelness as possible and remove dusts or obstacles at the rear of the outdoor unit.

Open the window where the outdoor unit is located or the ventilation window in the outdoor unit room.

Did you set the target temperature to 30℃(86°F)?

➔ Set the target temperature to 30℃(86°F) for use.

If temperature is detected at the ceiling, then the measured temperature might differ from the one that users actually feel indoors.
Set the target temperature high and set the fan speed to strong.

Set the desired temperature to 30 degrees(86°F).

Did you clean the filter?

➔ If the filter is not cleaned for more than one month, then make sure to clean it.

If the filter is severely clogged with dusts, then the amount of air is reduced, thus noises will be louder and the cooling performance will be degraded.

Did you adjust the wind angle?

➔ Adjust the wind angle downward and make sure it is automatically moved up and down.

Hot air goes up to only make the ceiling area warm more quickly, so using the [Wind Angle Adjustment] button to let the wind angle be adjusted downward and press the [Up Down] button to enable auto movement of the louver.

Are there lots of snows on the outdoor unit?

➔ Turn off the air conditioner and remove snows nearby.

If the outdoor unit installed outdoors, then as snow is accumulated on it during heating operation, cooling can get less strong and tends to stop frequently.

Turn off the air conditioner and clear the snow that has accumulated around the outdoor unit.
Wait! Find out more.
The ceiling mounted air conditioner that runs the outdoor unit might require longer pre heating time for the pipe than usual when the temperature drops below - 10℃(-0.4°F), thus the heating performance can be degraded momentarily.
If the temperature of sucked in air drops, the temperature of discharged air also drops, thus in case of sudden temperature drop, it might take longer to warn the entire indoor space than usual.
