On Screen Picture Issues
In the case of daisy-chaining video source peripheral such as UHD Blu-ray player or set-top-box receiver to LG soundbar and soundbar to Smart UHD TV all via HDMI thus experiencing poor picture quality whether lines on screen, black screen, no signal, video noise, distorted picture or colors or anything just not looking right with the picture, please refer to the following to help you sort it out.
Cause and Symptoms
When connecting an external UHD device to soundbar and soundbar to UHD TV as per below illustration, you may experience issues on screen such as the following symptoms :
- No signal or black screen.
- Noises or lines across the screen.
Try this
To improve HDMI connectivity performance, please update soundbar to the latest firmware version.
To update to the latest firmware version, music flow player application must be installed on the smart phone. Also, the sound bar must be connected to your home network.
Accessing “LG App Store” or “Google Play Store”
- Tap the “LG App Store” (SmartWorld) icon or “Google Play Store” icon.
- Type in “Music Flow Player” in the search bar and tap “Search”.
- Select “Music Flow Player” in the search result list to download then install it.
Through QR code
- Install “Music Flow Player” app through QR code.
- Scan the QR code using the scanning application.
Network Connection
- Launch Music Flow Player App
- Follow the steps for wired or wireless connection displayed on the screen.
Launch music flow player application, and follow the sequence as per below illustrated

Select the More Settings Button on the Home page

Go to Settings

Go to Version Information

Check if you device needs to be updated

If yes, then select the download button besides the Device version info.

Wait for the update to finish

Select OK to finish the update.
