USB peripheral not recognized

Troubleshooting

2019 Sound Bars - USB Device Unrecognized

LG Audio sound bars prior to the 2019 line-up featured a USB port at the rear that was strictly for Service Support such as software version updates. Recent models will now allow music playback from a connected USB peripheral.

Try this

If the USB memory peripheral is not recognized despite having been formatted FAT or FAT32, it would then mean the USB memory device’s file system is corrupted.

You will need to reformat the USB memory device as FAT32.

Backup the USB peripheral content to a computer before reformatting as reformatting will erase everything memorized to USB peripheral. You may need to change Windows explorer setting to show hidden files and hidden folders before copying.

If the USB peripheral is greater than 32GB in size, Windows might not allow you to format it as FAT32 forcing you to format it as NTFS. If that is the case, please find 3rd party instructions link in circumventing this awkward predicament

Format Option: File System (FAT32), Allocation size (default), Quick format (No)
