Cable/Satellite set-top-box remote control won’t work at night time.

Some set-top-box infrared sensors have very low sensitivity to light.


While the remote controller works well during daytime it fails to operate at night time.


Is customer television’s Energy Savings set to AUTO? Advise customer to disable feature.


If set-top-box is lined up with front of television, ask customer to push it a bit farther back.


The light being emitted from the television is blinding the infrared sensor and interfering with it.


Have customer put some distance between their set-top-box and the television.
