What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor manufacturing quality. Display panel faulty in one year I just felt the need to share a my remarks on the LG TV I purchased on June 1, 2015. Its a nice looking TV with lots of features, a very handy remote and its been doing a good job until yesterday, June 24, 2016 (7 am to be precise). Guess what I found when I turned on the TV for the morning news, an inch thick vertical line of malfunctioning pixels right across the middle of the screen. And as luck would have it, the warranty expired 24 days ago. Today personnel from LG came to inspect, looks like the display panel needs to be replaced, and it would cost roughly 50% of the TVs purchase price. In my humble opinion (since I work for the electronic product development industry), for a company like LG claiming ISO 9001 certification and quality management based on six sigma, the product you sell is unreliable, poorly tested and of deplorable quality.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Extremely Frustrating!! So, picture quality, fantastic. Great refresh rate for gaming, and looks great for video/sport. Thats where the positives end. The daily frustration of using this television outweighs that, the OS is extremely slow to load, sometimes having to press the input button 4 times before being allowed to select an input. Finding the television guide is difficult, and you can't watch live television while easily browsing it, oh no, that would be too easy, this tv launches a whole separate application, once again, taking AGES to load. The magic remote, is horrible. It has barely any buttons, making it much slower to use for settings and input selection. And the batteries drain like crazy. If you plan to use this TV for gaming, excellent. If you plan to use it as your regular television watcher for Free2Air, its not great, if you plan to run multiple inputs through it, forget it!! Its faster if you manually change your input cables.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cannot watch catchup tv Fantastic picture quality. Magic remote is easy to master and use. Setting up the TV and wireless took less than 10 minutes. But, I will not recommend this TV because, Adobe Flash is not compatible. And the operating system is legacy system

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Still no Freeview or Flash Player :-( Overall this is a really good TV and I'm really happy with it....however I can confirm the problems that other people are having with these type of smart TV's I am experiencing too! For instance - no freeview and it doesn't look like it will happen any time soon! I'm missing my favourite shows as through the antenna the auto tune only finds 18 digital channels. Main reason for buying the TV was for freeview. LG PLEASE CAN YOU SORT OUT THE SOFTWARE before I lose some credibility for the company. Flash player still isn't available. Also the EPG won't load all the channels - if you're on 7 it will only show the rest of the 7 channels as in 71,72,73 etc. Other channels are blank. I find the magic remote no problem, it's new and different and it takes a little bit of getting used to. I quite like it :-) Would have given a higher rating if it wasn't for the issues.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great easy to use TV with lots of features Great picture. Wide viewing angles, powerful and easy to use magic remote. Found the menus very easy to use and really liked the ability to customise the menu order. Really liked scrolling with the magic remote to change channels. No problems using Smartshare to access remote content or online services including Youtube or Iview.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blackest blacks, brightest whites, great colour in between The picture quality is fantastic. IPS really is everything they say it is. I can't comment too much on the SmartTV aspects as I hook mine up to a PC and use that for all the "smart" features I need. But I poked around a bit and it's relatively easy to use. Wi-fi connected right away, automatically updated itself. I can see how the "magic" remote would be annoying if you use it for regular TV and need channel flippers, but I mostly use it for on and off, so I appreciate the smaller size. Actually, I really like the simplicity of the remote, it's easy to memorize where the buttons are so you're not squinting in a darkened room -- all the would-be buttons pop up on the screen. There's a "1-2-3" button that pops up a number pad for quick channel changing, so really there's nothing to complain about, unless you specifically favour out-of-date technology. The pointer does take some getting used to, but it's not a major hurdle. Settings and setup are really well done. There's a Picture Wizard where you get the blacks, whites, saturation, sharpness, etc, to your specific tastes and lighting, etc. It's really easy to use, very straightforward, and very effective at producing a fantastic picture. Like any modern TV, it has all kinds of fandangled features for improving the image (line sharpening, dynamic contrast, etc.) I played around with them and got some improvement, but it still looks pretty good without that. Bottom line: To me, the most important aspect of any TV is the picture quality. Interface and remotes are all irrelevant if the picture quality is garbage. This TV delivers a fantastic picture quality, and I have no complaints about the rest.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pictures with IPS panel Got this over the couple weeks and absolutely loving it! My wife was simply impressed with the picture's sharpness and its vibrant resolution. LG has done it right by using the famous IPS panel. The only drawback is the touted "magic" remote is a pain in the foot to navigate around. Other than that its a viewing pleasure every time .
