Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too loud, doesn't cool well I bought this window unit in May and since day 1 it has been a huge disappointment. When I turn it on the motor is so loud and some sort of weird noise is coming from the inside. Also, while it does cool it's just not enough. The unit is fairly large and it should be able to cool a room quickly but instead it cools for a while and then warm air starts coming out. Very upset with this purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Bought this product to put out in our LSU party room. It's better than expected. Keeps room cool despite the south Louisiana heat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quiet and efficient Unit is super quiet and quickly cools a large room. Replaced a 12,000 older AC and really happy with this one. Have to keep the temperature higher because is works so well.

Why does LG not sell a cover fro their A/C units? This would be a good marketing tool to sell an insulated cover to protect the units from winter weather where owners do not use the a/c all year long,, as in the NW untied states, MT OR could mfg

When I turn unit off, compressor still is on but fan is off, is this normal?

Asked by: Dave C
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. When the power is deactivated on this model, the fan and compressor should both become inactive. Please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000 to troubleshoot this matter.

Why is the light red when I have it on energy saver instead of green?  It used to have a green light next to it but it is now showing red.

Asked by: Billy B
We regret the inconvenience you have experienced with this air conditioner. This red indicator light is typically related to the CLEAN FILTER alert. The ‘Clean Filter’ LED will light up to notify you that your filter needs to be cleaned. After cleaning the filter, press “Temp ^” and “Temp v” buttons together to turn off ‘Clean Filter’ light. The filter reset must be done from unit control panel. The buttons on the remote control will not perform in this fashion.

Is unit suppose to weep/drip water?  It is not it is making gurgling sounds.

Asked by: Mouse7
The dripping of water from the back of the cabinet will generally occur when the humidity level is elevated. If the unit is currently blowing cold air, then whether or not water drains should be irrelevant.

I have the LW1516ER, and I was wondering what is the best temperature to set the thermostat on?

Asked by: Blue55
There isn't one particular temperature setting on the ENERGY STAR® LG 15000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1516ER that can be considered the best. Temperature settings can be adjusted for your comfort according to what the environmental temperature conditions are. The best temperature will be the one that you're most comfortable in on any given day.

I would like to know about the R32 refrigerant.  At what outside temp will it stop cooling?

Asked by: Taylorbug
The R32 refrigerant used in the LG 15000 BTU Window Air Conditioner, Model # LW1516ER has similar performance and operating conditions to R410A and has been used for many years as a component of R410A, it is one of two components that are mixed to make R410A. The Thermostat that monitors the room temperature to maintain the desired temperature on the unit can be set between 60˚F~86˚F (16˚C~30˚C) so it is unlikely that you will operate the unit at the lowest temperature that R32 operates at. It has a discharge temperature that is ~10˚F higher than R410A and according to test results done by Daikin, a company that makes R32, it operates at extreme conditions (115 & 10˚F)...^IFV
