Rated 3 out of 5 by from TROUBLE WITH EXTENDED VENT I have a LG washer and dryer and am happy with those so I purchased the top of the line microwave. Just installed it yesterday templates where easy to use and install was straight forward. Removed the tape holding the exhaust tray closed and it will not stay closed. I noticed right away after inspecting it the right side had a gap where it attached to the bottom of the micro. For a top of the ling microwave this visual fault should have been caught upon final inspection. Other than that defect a I am happy with the under counter light ,quiet operation, and easy to use function buttons. But as a designer I am not happy with no back lighting of the function buttons and the small size of the clock display. For a top end product I think this is poor design. I am 65 and have to put my glasses on too read the functions buttons at night. If I had seen this in store with power on I would not have purchased it. It's not like they did not have room the glass front of the oven is huge. just bad, or cheap design. Something you would find in a base model not top end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow - Functions I never had So many features and functions that my counter model never had. Cooking done fast so many ways.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does Not Draw in Air to Exhaust We bought this for the extended exhaust. Well not only does that do nothing, even the rear vents do nothing. The blower goes like a jet but is cycling air from inside, not through the filters. The microwave is nice and we like the automatic warming and other features.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG Amazing with all features and ease to use! Life is Good with LG. Love even more than the G.E. Advantium micro/oven in previous house.. The exhaust fan levels for power the best I ever had in my 52+ yrs. of cooking. The excellent light over the stove for these aging eyes a pleasure to enjoy cooking with ease. Thank U ~ LG ~ for a most wonderful product!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Needs more that the 30 inches wide as advertise. When the door is open it needs at least 31" of clearance. Beware if you have any walls or cabinets sticking out past the left (hinge) side. The door will not open. Life is Bad

compare LHM2235ST and LMHM2237st

what are the differences, if any, between these 2 models? Consumer Reports reviewed LHM2235ST and it is the only LG they recommend. Is there a significant difference in the features and function, especially with venting and cooking efficiency? We are planning to buy several LG products and were hoping that we can also include an over the range microwave so we can have a coherence of appliances. Please respond soon. Also please consider making 2 drawer dishwashers.

Night Light

Just purchased the LMH22237 and am trying to figure out how to program the night light. I don't see any reference in the Owner's manual.
Asked by: JerryT
Congratulations on your new purchase. The instructions for how to turn the night light on on the LG 2.2. cu.ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven, Model # LMHM2237ST can be found on page 11 of your owner's manual under the heading "LIGHT HI/LOW/OFF" The button on the right of the control panel controls the cooktop light (or night light). Touch that button once to turn the light on and "Light" will flash in display, then stay on. Page 27 gives you instructions on how to change the light should you need to replace it...^IFV

Is the ExtendaVent covered with a different material than Stainless Steel?

Just purchased and notice the ExtendaVent looks different in color and feel than the rest of the microwave did not notice this in the store when looking at it. Is this the way it is suppose to be and for what reason? Or is ours defective, I would think that it would be stainless steel too like the rest of the microwave
Asked by: jlsh
We regret your dissatisfaction with this microwave and its accessories. It is sometimes possible for two different devices to be produced from different batches of stainless steel, and to have a slightly different mixture of metals, resulting in slightly varying coloration. This can happen with any product, and does not constitute a defect in materials.

We appreciate your interest in this microwave oven. This product has been designed for compatibility with a 30-watt appliance bulb. It is not recommended to use anything larger.

how can i get charcoal filters

your spec page says it has four charcoal filters i removed them and there is no charcoal visable just wire mesh to catch grease plus the cooking oder in the kitchen proves so its a pleasant aroma at the time but u do not want it to linger all day .thanks geno
Asked by: harleyguy77
Hello Harleyguy77. The Spec page only shows under "Venting System" that the Filtration System is a Charcoal Filter. If you have the owner's manual for the LG 2.2. cu.ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven, Model # LMHM2237ST, on page 26 under Charcoal Filter Replacement are detailed instructions on where to locate the Charcoal Filter and how to replace it. If you prefer, you can visit and on the left hand side of that page locate the Help Library link and click that then in the search field that pops up, enter the Microwave's model # then click on "Search by Topic". Use the Super Category (Appliances) > Catergory (Microwaves) > Sub Category/Model (Over the Range) Then >Topic (Others) > Sub Topic (Others) and find the 3rd Video tutorial on "Cleaning the Charcoal Filter on The LG Microwave " Video to watch a Video of how to replace the filter...^IFV

Slide-out hood can't be closed

I just have installed this LMHM2237ST. However, the slide-out hood keeps open and can not be closed. When I push it back, I can hear a "click" sound, but it won't lock closed.
