T-Mobile Device Update Instructions
PC Support Only
Preparation
- Fully charge the battery.

Save any important data before updating the software on your device. Any data not saved on a micro SD card or
PC may be erased; i.e. contacts, images, etc. If you need further assistance please contact support, see below for methods.
- Remove the micro SD memory card.
- Close all open applications on your computer before proceeding with the update.

Ensure device "Mass storage only" mode is NOT selected.
- Navigate to Application -> Settings -> SD card & phone storage or Storage (depending on device menu options may differ slightly)

Note:
- Calling and messaging functions are not available during the update process.
- The entire upgrade process varies depending on software package size, internet connection speed, and PC configuration.
- The handset will go through various states throughout the update process. The tool will notify you when the update is complete.
DO NOT REMOVE USB connection prior to the tool confirmation of completion.
Ensure Your Driver is Up to Date
In order to connect your phone to your PC, you must download and install the latest driver below to you PC. Please select "Run" when prompted. When you are finished continue to step 2.

Restart Your Computer
Make sure to bookmark this page. When you restart your computer, click on your bookmark to return to this page and install the LG Mobile Support Tool.
Install the LG Mobile Support Tool
The LG Mobile Support Tool will easily help you update the software for your device. Please select "Run" when prompted.
Note: See PC Requirements below.
Connect Device and Start Update

Connect your phone to your PC using the USB cable included with your device.
- Do not tap "Turn on USB storage" on your phone screen.
- Do not disconnect the USB cable until the update is complete.
- If you experience errors, ensure "Mass storage only" is not checked, check USB connection, or try another port.

Click 'Start Updating' within the LG Mobile Support Tool to begin.
- Device will progress through Analysis, Download, Update and Complete during the update process.
- In Update step, at approx. 5% completion the device will power off and enter a download mode, this is normal. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE!

- In Update step, at approx. 95% the device will power on, this may take several minutes. This is normal. DO NOT DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE!
- If your phone software upgrade stops before it has completed, please do not close the update tool and try the update again. Additional troubleshooting steps below.
- When upgrade is complete the tool will notify you, see image below.

- Wait for device to power on. Once powered on device will reconnect to the LG Mobile Support Tool.
When connected, observe the version number indicates the latest SW. It is now OK TO DISCONNECT THE USB CABLE.
Troubleshooting

If the phone software upgrade stopped before completion, please don't close the update tool and try to update again following original instructions.

If you closed the update tool already and the phone will not turn on normally, please follow the below steps
- Remove back cover and battery.
- Record IMEI/ESN/MEID from device label in battery well.
- Replace battery and back cover.
- Open "LG Mobile Support Tool"
- Connect the device to PC via USB Cable
- Select menu "Customer Support" –> "Recovery Phone"

- Input the IMEI/ESN/MEID* and click "Check"

- After checking the phone information, it will start to update automatically. If it does not work the device may require service to attempt recovery.
