If you hear a humming sound as the water is drained before proceeding with the spin cycle, it is normal as the drain pump is operating to drain the water.
If foreign objects are stuck in the drain filter, the sound may be unusually disturbing and loud.
Try this
Removing foreign objects from the tub
1. Check the inside of the laundry tub thoroughly.
2. If the inside of the tub is not easily visible, use a stocking in the palm of your hand or wear a glove and slowly skim the tub surface to remove anything that might be stuck there. (For wires, remove those by twisting them with your hands or by plucking with pliers.)
Cleaning drain filters
If the sound is unusually noisy, check the drain filter for any foreign objects and clean the drain filter.
A large amount of water can spill onto the floor when cleaning the drain filter. (Be cautious if the floor is a hardwood floor.)
➔ If it is okay for water to spill onto the floor
1. When you open the machine's front cover on the lower left, there will be a large stopper and a residual water hose.
(Some models have it on the right side of the service cover.)
2. Turn the large stopper to the left to open and remove any water and foreign objects.
It is not necessary to pull out the residual water hose.
3. Reassemble the filter after cleaning it.
➔ If it is not okay for water to spill onto the floor
1. When you open the machine's front cover on the lower left, there will be a large stopper (cap) and a residual water hose.
(Some models have it on the right side of the service cover.)
2. Make sure you have a mop or container to keep the floor dry.
3. Grab the residual water hose and pull it out to open the cap, then remove the hose cap and drain the water.
Drain any residual water into the prepared container.
Hold the hose steady when the cap is opened.
4. Turn the large cap to the left to disassemble it, and then clean the filter.
5. Clean the filter with running water to remove any foreign objects, and then reassemble the filter.
6. When water is no longer coming out, close the cap and plug it back into place.
