Why does my air conditioner smell like must when it starts blowing?
Symptom
My air conditioner smells musty when it starts blowing.
Cause
1. As you find foul odor occurs when a wet laundry is left unattended for a long period of time,
bad smell can occur as moisture on cooling fins in the indoor unit are dried by wind.
2. This can occur when the unit is used after left unused for a long period of time.
Odor occurs due to water inside the product and the drain hose.
How to fix
If an air conditioner works fine, this odor may be due to poor ventilation in a room.
2. Open windows to ventilate. Set cooling at 18℃ on the unit and let it run for about 20 minutes.
3. Ventilate the room until the odor goes away when the unit is used for the first time.
