[LG PC] Let's learn how to view HEIF or HEIC photos in Windows

You can view photos by downloading and installing HEIF Codec or HEIC Image Viewer from Microsoft Store.

Causes and Symptoms

• I cannot see iPhone photos in Windows.

To open this file, you need a new codec.
Download a codec from Microsoft Store.

• HEIF(High Efficiency Image File Format) - High efficiency image file format(Android file format)
  ➔ Since it is saved in the HEIF/HEVC format, the size is reduced to about a half and lots of information can be processed at once.
• HEIC(High Efficiency Image Container) – HEIC is the upgraded version of HEIF that was used on Apple devices.
  ➔ It was developed by MPEG, and its advantages include being able to compress files to save storage space.
• HEIF or HEIC file formats are not provided by default in Windows..
  ➔ You can view them by downloading [HEIF Image Expansion or HEIC Viewer, Converter] in Microsoft Store.
