[LG OLED TV] Screen Overheating Issue

Troubleshooting

Is the screen of your OLED TV overheating to the point where it feels like a problem?

Let's find out more.

All electronic devices generate heat due to circuit operation, and the amount of heat generated can vary depending on the operating method of each product.

➔ LCD TV

Uses a lamp to emit light and controls the light passing through the liquid crystal to create colors. The heat from the lamp and internal components combine to generate a certain amount of heat.

➔ LED TV

There are two main ways to use LEDs as the light source for LCD TVs.

  • Direct Type: LEDs are densely arranged like a grid across the entire TV screen, generating uniform heat.
  • Edge Type: LEDs are arranged around the edges of the TV, causing heat to be generated more at the corners than in the center of the screen.

➔ OLED TV

OLED TVs generate heat from the screen itself as each pixel emits light without a separate light source.

Try this.

Is the screen brightness set too high?

➔ Adjust the [Brightness] in the TV's [Picture Mode Settings] menu to about 60-70%.

If the screen brightness is set too high, it may generate more heat as it emits more light.

Is the picture mode set to [Vivid] or [Sports]?

➔ Check the picture mode in the TV's [Settings] menu and change it to [Standard].

Setting the picture mode to [Vivid] or [Sports] can make the colors and brightness more intense, causing the screen to generate more heat.

Note!
  • Installing the TV in direct sunlight can cause it to overheat and may damage the TV panel, causing discoloration or deterioration of the liquid crystal.
  • The surrounding temperature (ambient/indoor temperature) can affect the TV.
  • We manage the temperature to meet safety standards, so you can use your TV with confidence.
