[LG refrigerator door] The door gasket is loose. The refrigerator door doesn't close.

Troubleshooting

Has the door gasket on the refrigerator door become loose? Does the refrigerator door not seal tightly against the refrigerator?

The door gasket keeps the refrigerator door tightly sealed to prevent cold air from leaking.
The inside of the door gasket contains rubber magnets to keep the fridge door adhering seamlessly. Wipe the door gasket frequently using detergent to keep it clean.

Is the refrigerator door not closing properly because there is too much food inside?

➔ Remove some of the food so that the door can be closed and sealed completely.

If the refrigerator is too full, the door will not close properly.
Also, if there is too much food in the storage area inside the refrigerator door, the door gasket may become loose and make the door difficult to close and seal due to the weight of the food.

➔ Remove the drawers or shelves and then reinsert them correctly.

If the drawers or shelves are assembled incorrectly after cleaning the refrigerator, the refrigerator door may not close properly.

Do fridge covers and plastic bags get in the way while opening and closing the refrigerator door?

➔ Tidy the space as these objects will prevent the refrigerator door from closing.

If there is a cover on top of the refrigerator or a plastic bag inside a door shelf, remove it as it may get stuck in the refrigerator door.

Does the door gasket have a foreign substance so that it won't attach to the refrigerator body properly?

➔ Clean the door gasket with detergent.

If there are foreign substances on the surface of the door gasket, the door may not close properly due to poor adhesion.
Wipe the door gasket with a hot steam towel, and then clean it with detergent using a toothbrush or a sponge.

➔ Press the door gasket with your hands to tuck it back in place.

If a part of the door gasket is hanging out or sagging, tuck it back into the groove on the refrigerator door.
