[LG Water Purifier] Why does the tap move back up?

Repair

Successful detection of the container.

It is normal for the tap (water outlet) to move back up when the sensor bar detects the container.
This motion prevents the tap from entering the container.

Water outlet and sensor bar

In instances where the container is filled or positioned outside the sensor bar's detection range.

If the container is filled, the sensor may fail to detect its contents, leading to the tap being obstructed by the contents.
Conversely, if the sensor first detects the container and then recognizes the rest as obstructions, it is normal for the tap to retract.
Furthermore, if the container is placed outside the sensor bar’s detection range, the tap may move back up.

The spoon is obstructing the way of the tap. The cup is overfilled with ice.
The cup is stuck. The cup is outside the sensor detection range.

If the tap stops and ascends on its own, outside of the aforementioned scenarios, please reach out to our customer service for assistance.
(Please note that if the tap moves 100mm, water is dispensed immediately without the tap ascending.)
