LG ANNOUNCES FIRST HALF I.T. LINE-UP

LG to fast-track Australian release of award winning CES 2014 IT products

Sydney, 10 February, 2014 — Barely a month after being unveiled at CES 2014, the world’s biggest consumer electronics show, LG Electronics (LG) Australia today announced that it will fast track three of the company’s award winning products as seen at CES 2014 for its first half 2014 IT line-up.

Today’s announcement will usher in a global first as LG makes plans to release its all-in-one (AIO) ChromeBase PC, the very first of its kind powered by Google’s simple yet powerful Chrome operating system (OS), to the Australian market. This announcement was made alongside the company’s intentions to also release the impressive 21:9 UltraWide Quad High Definition (QHD) 34”monitor and the lightweight, slim-line UltraPC, both of which also created a stir at CES 2014.

“LG continues to seek cutting-edge innovation in all of the categories in which it operates.” said Lambro Skropidis, General Manager Marketing at LG Electronics Australia. “That we can introduce the world’s first Chrome AIO Desktop, the 21:9 UltraWide QHD 34” monitor, and our UltraPC so soon after their unveiling at CES 2014 is testament to LG’s commitment to keeping Australian consumers at the forefront of technological innovation.” added Skropidis.

World’s First Chrome AIO Desktop

The LG ChromeBase (Model 22CV241) comes with the highly efficient Google Chrome OS, which was developed to allow software to exist within a cloud- based environment. Chrome computers as a result are freed from the processing requirements of traditional PCs, which can enhance performance on hardware with the same specifications.

With the popularity of Google Chrome, LG is confident that the ChromeBase represents the wave of the future for desktops and will become widely adopted at home, schools and businesses alike.

Priced at RRP $599, LG’s ChromeBase is expected to be launched into the Australian market in April, with stockist details to be announced in the very near future.

Premiering the World’s First 21:9 UltraWide QHD 34” Monitor

Fresh from winning a CES 2014 Innovation award, the stunning image clarity of the 21:9 UltraWide QHD 34” monitor (34UM95) is set to become the monitor of choice for graphics professionals, film buffs and those looking for life-like colour, motion clarity and wide angle viewing.

Clocking in at an impressive 4,953,600 pixels (3440X1440) LG’s QHD monitor is compatible with both Macintosh and Window PC operating systems. Functionality is also boosted with the addition of Reader and Flickersafe Modes, the former of which helps to relieve reader fatigue.

LG’s 21:9 UltraWide QHD 34” monitor also supports a variety of advanced connectivity options, including Thunderbolt™ 2, a revolutionary connectivity technology that simultaneously supports high-resolution displays and high-performance data devices through a single, compact port.

Priced at RRP $1299, LG’s 21:9 UltraWide QHD 34” monitor is expected to be launched into the Australian market in early March, with stockist details to be announced in the very near future.

LG UltraPC - Improved Lightweight Offering

LG has also announced that it will be releasing the lightweight, slim-line UltraPC (Model 13Z940), which weighs in at less than 1kg and offers a refined, minimalist design combined with Full HD, Windows 8.1, and LG’s stunning display IPS technology.

LG’s UltraPC offers improved processing, excellent graphics performance, extended battery life and comes with the choice of either an i5 or i7 Haswell Intel® Core™ processor. Another key feature of the LG UltraPC is its ability to fast boot through its solid-state drive (128GB or 256GB – depending upon choice of either i5 or i7 processor) for quick access and user convenience.

With a Full HD 13.3” IPS display that incorporates LG’s Narrow Bezel design for a convenient 4.4mm thin bezel, the LG UltraPC measures only 13.6mm at its thickest point. The UltraPC also features Instant Booting, as well as Reader Mode, which effectively helps to reduce reader fatigue.

Priced at RRP $1298 (i5 model) and RRP $1898 (i7 model), LG’s UltraPC is expected to be launched into the Australian market in February, with stockist details to be announced in the very near future.
