LG REVEALS OLED AND 4K ULTRA HDTV RANGE LAUNCH

LG reveals OLED launch and extends 4K ULTRA HDTV range with 55- and 65-inch models

Sydney, 29 August, 2013 - LG Electronics Australia (LG) today announced that the wait for its highly anticipated CURVED OLED TV (55EA9800) will soon be over. LG first unveiled the jaw-dropping CURVED OLED at CES in 2013, and were first to showcase it in Australia at the LG Home Entertainment range launch in May, 2013. LG’s first CURVED OLED will be available for sale in September.

Excited about the impending launch, Lambro Skropidis, Marketing General Manager for LG Australia said, “We are thrilled to bring the CURVED OLED to Australian consumers. Featuring an optimally curved screen, this masterpiece of technology and design will mark the beginning of a new chapter in home electronics history.”

“LG’s CURVED OLED TV delivers a level of viewer immersion that has to be experienced to be believed. Driving the evolution of TV in a new and exciting direction, the CURVED OLED is proof of our commitment to commercialising the most cutting-edge technologies,” he added.

In another bold move, LG also announced that it will also start selling 55-inch and 65-inch versions of their highly praised 4K ULTRA HDTV. A continuation of the successful 84” 4K ULTRA HDTV technology that launched in October, 2012, the new 55-inch (55LA9700) and 65-inch (65LA9700) 4K ULTRA HDTVs* offer an incredible sense of immersion as LG’s 84-inch model, with stunningly sharp images and extraordinary colour contrast. In addition to producing mesmerising 4K ULTRA HD images, the 55-inch and the 65-inch models also pack cleverly designed audio systems.

“LG continues to drive innovation in the TV sector. We are leaders in next generation display technology, and leaders lead. We are delighted to now be able to expand on the 4K ULTRA HDTV range to a total of three 4K ULTRA HDTV models. These two new additions will join the 4K Ultra HDTV range and will transform the cinema experience for Australians,” said Skropidis.

“We’ve made it easier for Australian’s to access this incredible picture quality at home. Consumers will be able to select a screen size and price point that best suits their needs,” he added.

LG plans to release further details surrounding specifications, pricing and availability for LG’s CURVED OLED, and the 55-inch and 65-inch 4K ULTRA HDTVs next week.
