What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yacht AC I bought this unit at the start of summer. I live on an 83' yacht in the Pacific NW and don't need a big system. I use 2 to cool the main deck cabins on the few hot days here. Mine vent thru port holes and were installed in about 30 minutes each including making a filler for the port. The cabin is poorly insulated but the two units maintain 70°F on a 100°F day. Because I'm on a boat, I routed the sump to a shower sump and don't have to worry about draining condensation. I like the units because of their compact size, easy installation and portability for off season storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works perfectly Don't believe the negative reviews, this thing worked perfectly. Our son's 15 x 12 room is on the corner of the house, the furthest away from the AC unit and gets full summer sun all day. His room will easily reach mid 80s during the day while the rest of the house is low 70s. It took maybe 5 minutes to install the unit in a typical window, the hardest part was realizing the exhaust hose snapped into place which wasn't hard. After turning the unit on, the room began to rapidly cool to the low 70s within 45 minutes. Boys being boys, when I walked into his room the next morning the temperature was 63 degrees. For what it is designed for, i.e. 200 sq ft, this unit is remarkable. Lastly, the unit is quiet. Sure, it makes a little noise but it is a consistent low hum that should not be an issue to a normal sleeper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works! My upstairs bedroom was so hot and humid, this has worked perfectly, not obvious from exterior. I turn my central air up when I go to sleep and this unit on, I have seen no difference in my electric bill and so much more comfortable. Like the dehumidifier option. Cools the space quickly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does a decent job I bought this one honestly because it was the cheapest I saw. It says 200 Sq Feet that is a small bedroom. Im a hospice nurse and I stay at different people's homes. In Southern California you need an air conditioner and I bring this one all over with me. The home I am at today has a decent size bedroom and the unit is not helping much at all

Where do I put water

Asked by: Calif
The LG 8,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP0814WNR does not require you to put water in it at all. It has an internal water collection tank that collects the condensate that it extracts from the room that you are cooling and when that tank gets full, the unit will display "FL" on its' display to indicate that the tank if full and the unit will turn off until the tank is emptied. The tank can be emptied by removing the drain cap and rubber plug from the drain outlet at the bottom of the unit as explained in the instructions on page 20 of owner's manual...^IFV

How to remove the air filter to vacuum or wash it? Front panel? Side panels?

Asked by: verdamt
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. This device appears to have been developed with 4 air filters: 2 on the back, and 2 on the right side, when looking at the back of the cabinet. Pull out the filters by the handle. Use a vacuum cleaner to clean the filter. If the filter is heavily soiled, it can be washed in warm water using a mild detergent. Do not use harsh cleaners or very hot water. Do not wash in a dishwasher. Allow the filters to dry completely before re-installing. Do not operate the machine without all the air filters in place.

I've had my unit for more than two months. I've been running it daily. It has been hot and humid where I live. I have yet to see the water full indicator. Is this normal?

Asked by: stpauljohn
We appreciate your interest in this portable air conditioner. If this device is cooling properly, then the lack of the appearance of the Full Tank Indicator should be irrelevant.

I just got this unit today. I've had it plugged in for 3 hours and have had to empty the water 8 times. Not much water is coming out, but it's constantly shutting off and saying the water is full. Should I return it or is there something I missed?

Asked by: itstoohotforthis
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this air conditioner. This device has not been designed to be recharged with additional coolant, as the coolant lines are sealed. Does anyone know how I can change the display from Celsius back to Fahrenheit WITHOUT the remote. The manual only discusses the button on the remote and we lost it. I know it can be done, just don't know how.

Asked by: Kathryn123
We appreciate your interest in this air conditioner. According to the information on page 12 of the owner’s manual, the temperature can be switched between Fahrenheit and Celsius by pressing the UP and DOWN arrow buttons at the same time.
