What People Are Saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by 93 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 This product has great features. I am well pleased with this product. We used in a pop-up camper this summer & it did a great job. I highly recommend this product. September 28, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by DOES THE JOB! Bought it in an "emergency" situation when my swamp cooler died. Took several days to get someone to fix it and bought this unit in the meantime. Works beautifully in my bedroom and even cools the livingroom a bit. Glad I got it! September 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great small room AC Over all, good little AC for the money. Works hard, used in continious mode to cool computer equipment August 27, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Cool is cool Every summer, we have a few weeks where our upstairs bedroom is really uncomfortable in the heat and we spend more time tossing and turning than sleeping at night. I have threatened to buy a portable air conditioner for years but when the weather heats up and I remember, they're all sold out. This year I made a preemptive strike and bought one before the hot weather. I turn it on about an hour before we go to bed and our room temperature is just right. It's a little louder than I expected, but the trade off in coolness is worth it! August 23, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Terrible product This is a poor excuse for an air conditioner. The condenser only stays on for a minute or two at a time. It cools when the condenser is on, but it turns off for minutes at a time blowing hot air and cancelling out any cooling it did. I was prepared to cut it some slack when we were in 105 degree heat in Texas, but now we live in Colorado and it's not even working here when it's 88 outside. Don't buy this. I wish I could return it. What a waste of money. It's just a really expensive fan at this point. August 18, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 Noisy but it works. It does the job of cooling the room down in 85 degree heat but it's very noisy. You can't really sleep with it on...my other concern is not sure if it will cool just as well in 90+ heat. Overall, I'm satisfied but wished it was a bit lighter in weight & quieter. August 15, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Portable Rooom Air Conditioner There are many nice things about this unit. However there are a few drawbacks. It is rather loud in a bedroom. It does a great job of cooling down the room. When using the dehumidifier part it is not to convenient. You must put a pail or container and attach a hose from the unit to the container to collect the water and then emptying the container is not that convenient. If you have windows that crank out to open, the system that is provided for the cooling is not satisfactory, you put the exhaust on and send it outside and then are forced to block the rest of the window to keep the hot air out and the cool air in thereby making the room dark during the day. Rated 4 out of 5 by Good buyat a good price We bought this AC when temps were in the 90s and so far it has done a very good job. August 14, 2013

The exhaust hose on my unit is hot to the touch, too. I hope the answer that says this is normal is the correct one.

Answer:
Generally speaking it is not normal for the exhaust hose to be hot to the touch. It can become hotter depending on the amount of heat that is being pulled from the unit and the amount of heat that is directed on it from the outside. The length of the exhaust pipe is specially designed according to the specification of this product. Do not replace or prolong it with your own private hose as this could cause mal-function. If you continue to experience this issue, please contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000.

Answer:
Yes the hot air from the room goes out the vent. It would defeat the porpose of the unit if you didnt vent outside

Answer:
Yes, this unit must be vented out the window. If it is not, then the hot, humid air from the natural operation of the product will be blown back into the room, and will thus effectively negate the cooling operation of the unit.

Answer:
This product has not been designed in a manner as to allow access to the drip pan. This drain pan is designed in a way as to provide for a self-evaporating system. If the tank does fill, then the water is to be drained through the valve behind the drain cap. This cap is the only access available to the collection pan.
