What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loves its efficiency and portability My daughter bought this for me as an emergency back-up when my swamp cooler broke. I was happy that we did . It was easy to assemble as the instructions were simple enough to follow. With plans of moving it to different parts of the house and use it as needed, I did not use the bracket to secure it . Foam seal was tight enough. It is easy to move it to other areas of the house. The size is just right and fits corners' well. It is efficient and cools pretty fast. Setting the desired temp. is no problem. The remote is convenient as I can adjust settings from a distance, like while on bed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid product Bought this portable AC unit to cool my Florida room. Does a good job of keeping the room comfortable. Particularly like the fact that you don't have to empty a water container daily.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Compact and easy to operate. I am happy except it does not cool as I thought it should.. I believe that my vaulted ceiling is the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This little guy is AWESOME! Purchased 6/7/16. I live in the hottest part of the West Coast. Temperatures reach 121 degrees with 30% humidity sometimes. The heat for non-locals can be unbearable. I bought this little guy for a few reasons. I needed a backup unit when my car's a/c stopped working. I work at night, so I use outside power and seal the inside, and talk about COOL!. This unit really saved my life and allowed me to continue to work until I got my car's unit fixed. It blows cool, crisp air. Installed correctly it really does its job in the home. It was easy to assemble out the box, the instructions were easy to read. The remote is a little inaccurate, as I have read in other reviews, but it's not the end of the world. The timer works, so it will turn off according to your settings. For those of you who can't seem to keep your unit running cool, try making sure it's installed correctly, any loose air flowing between the exhaust and the window will cause the compressor not to kick on correctly. And make sure you only use one PREMIUM extension cord if needed, too many cords connected will cause the compressor to 'jump'. Otherwise just plug straight into the wall. If you have problems in HUMID areas, make sure you use the dehumidify function, and keep the filter clean. I love my little pal. A MUST-HAVE for casitas, tenters, and small rooms with a running fan for circulation. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cools my sunroom I bought this product hoping to cool my sunroom which is regularly 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the house in the summer. It was the perfect answer to my dilemma. I love the way it starts quietly and maintains a constant temperature. Remote is handy. For me the best feature was the ability to vent the exhaust through the wall rather than through a window as I have no operable windows in my room, just big sheets of glass. The feature allowed me to discreetly locate the unit behind a chair. I also liked that I didn't need to vent the condensate line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Way easier than putting in the window! I am much happier with this type of air conditioner rather than a wall model.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not cooling my small room The compressor is running only 5 minutes pet hour. Even at the lowest setting of cooling (16.C) It struggle to lower the room temperature to 22.C. It a brand new machine from today.

Does the unit need to vent outside in dry mode? We are trying to use the unit to reduce humidity in our bedroom. It's very cold outside, but curious if it's unsafe to vent back into the room.

Asked by: Kelsie Elaine
The instructions in the owner's manual for the LG 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1015WSR, on page 20 in the Care and Cleaning section under Water Drainage - Using the Upper Port (Dry Mode Only) it states that "this can be used when you need dehumidification in high humidity. Under Cool or Fan mode, there's no need of using the upper drain port. During DRY(dehumidifying) mode, remove the drain plug and the exhaust hose from the back of the unit. Install a drain hose (12mm [1/2"] inside diameter and place the open end of the hose at a suitable drain location or outdoors"...^IFV

How do I set the programmable timer to go on and off? How do I empty the water tray? Should I have received a remote for this unit?

Asked by: Denice
While the unit is RUNNING, each press of the TIMER button adds an extra hour to how long the delay is before the air conditioner DEACTIVATES. While the unit is INACTIVE, each press of the TIMER button adds an extra hour to how long the delay is before the air conditioner AUTOMATICALLY STARTS. According to the information on page 20 of the owner’s manual, open the drain cap while positioned over a pan or other container which can hold 2 pints of water. Allow the unit to drain while unplugged. A remote control is provided with sealed packages.

I apologize, but no; the display on the unit is designed to only show the SET TEMPERATURE. There are no settings designed to show the actual room temperature.

Asked by: Karl H
LG does not manufacture nor does it supply vent ducting for the LG 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner, Model # LP1015WSR. You will want to visit the Home Depot, or LOWE's for vent ducting...^IFV

In dry mode there's an option for -2, -1, --, 1, and 2 .... Nowhere in the manual mentions these ?? What do those settings do in dry mode?

Asked by: Tyler83
We appreciate your interest in this Portable Air Conditioner. According to our information, it appears that the ‘—‘ setting is a humidity level which the factory has set. The other 4 values are 2 above and 2 below this setting, depending on if the user needs higher or lower humidity.
