What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Happy Purchased 10/13. Morning of 1/19/16 stopped heating. Everything worked except it wouldn't cook. Only had 2 yrs & 4 mos. and the Magnetron quit working. Even though it has a 10 yr warranty, the service call & labor was going to cost almost as much as a brand new one, so we bought a brand new microwave!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful product I installed this microwave for my 73 year old mother who used it occasionally. It died 13 months later. Awful product. Stay away from LG appliances.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from POOR QUALITY, DESIGNED TO DIE AFTER WARRANTY ENDS. PRODUCT COMPLETELY DIED AFTER 14 MONTHS OF SERVICE:-( WE TRAVEL ALOT & FIGURE THAT WE HAVE ONLY BEEN HOME 6 MONTHS OF THE 15 SINCE BUYING THIS HOUSE. 2 ADULTS, NO KIDS!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible product, short life I bought this unit and 14 months later (out of warranty) it decides to just stop working. The service call it $165 plus parts. I can buy a new unit for that kind of money. Won't buy an LG product again, very disappointed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stopped heating a year later. Worked great up until a few days ago when it just stopped heating and started making a loud noise. Warranty is no longer valid and finding someone in the area that fixes LG appliances is nearly impossible. Eventually, paying to repair makes no sense considering the price that was originally paid to purchase the appliance. Might as well buy a new one. If it breaks down good luck finding a place that can fix it for a reasonable price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOW!!! I bought this without seeing one. I evaluated various microwaves online and decided on this one. Some of the features are not described at all or not in enough detail online (Home Depot or Lowe's websites). As a result, I am constantly very pleasantly surprised as I learn to use it to its full capabilities. I LOVE THIS MICROWAVE! The first surprise was the built-in shelf under the oven that comes out when you push on it. It is very, very useful when removing something that you need to get out of your hands quickly. The only negative about this shelf is that it does not come out as far as I would like it to. I LOVE THIS MICROWAVE! The Re-Heat feature shows a list of numbered items, i.e., "Dinner Plate. Pizza Slice," etc. Once you select the item that best fits what you are re-heating, the microwave starts by itself and heats the item to perfection. It's not too petrified or too cold. It is perfect. I LOVE THIS MICROWAVE! The "Keep Warm" feature is absolutely ingenious for those of us who multi-task and need to use this rather than cook it again, because we weren't ready when it was. Cooking it again can ruin it. I LOVE THIS MICROWAVE! A list of items to select from appears when you push the "Cook" button. One is "Baked Potato," and the potato comes out with the feel and taste of a baked potato; not a microwaved potato pretending to be a baked potato. They are never too done or not done enough. I really think there is a little genie in there somewhere making sure everything is cooked or heated to perfection, regardless of the size; even popcorn. And there's more to love about it!!!! Did I mention I LOVE THIS MICROWAVE!? I am 69 and have had many-a-microwave in those years, and THIS IS THE BEST - BY FAR!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Feature I like the ability to soften my butter for baking in the microwave. It is programmed for butter and then you add the number of sticks you are working with.

Why the interior fan turns on when door opens?

Asked by: HecMag
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this microwave oven. According to our information, it does not appear that the interior fan should activate when the door is open. It is not uncommon for the vent fan to activate when the cooking surface is hot. However, if this is not the case, then the unit may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

Asked by: gasinica
Hello gasinica. The grease filters on the LG 2.0 cu. ft. Over the Range Microwave Oven with Extenda™ Vent, Model # LMH2016ST should be removed and cleaned often, at least once a month, but the part number for them is #5230W1A012C if you're looking to order them...^IFV

Start button doesn't work

The microwave is just 14 months old the start button doesn't work although their is power to the unit. The fan clock & lights all work. I can put in a time to cook but it won't start. Can you tell me why?
Asked by: Mommalubes
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this microwave oven. It is difficult to determine if there is a problem with the magnetron, or if it is just the control module or another related component. The unit will likely require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

Are the 2 grease filters in the front of Extenda vent (hidden when Extenda pushed in) removable for washing?

Asked by: DLEE
We appreciate your interest in this microwave oven. It appears that the filters on the ExtendaVent are the only grease filters that are removable. The other set appears to be a heat vent only, with no filters involved.

Control Panel Alignment

I purchased this microwave earlier this year and recently installed it. It's very evident that the bottom and top of the control panel are not aligned with the door leaving a much larger gap between the slide out vent in the area of the control panel. I've received several comments from visitors indicating that it does not look right. I've noticed that in some pictures online the same microwave has this misalignment while the picture on our website shows the door and control panel lining up perfectly. Is there a way to adjust the control panel in the up and down direction?
Asked by: dalop
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this microwave oven. The alignment of this door should not be attempted by any other than a qualified service technician. Is there a cure for the F-4 error

LMH2016ST microwave recently installed keeps getting an F-4 error when reheating or trying to cook popcorn using the preset. Is there a cure for this or should the microwave be serviced?
