What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Microwave I bought this microwave 2months ago, it operates and looks great! It was very easy to install, in fact, I do not understand why another reviewer indicated you need more than 30" to install, for my opening is exactly 30" inches. All of the features work great for I use them all and it is also very easy to wipe clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Purchased this microwave along with a new range, easy to install and came with wall bracket for installation, overall nice clean look and works well, I wish the light under the microwave was a little brighter

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor fan/venting operation Installed a few weeks ago. Vents into the room, and the fan was properly re-oriented to do so. A huge volume of air vents out the top, as intended, but it clearly isn't coming from the bottom of the unit, as it should. Boiling water on the stove beneath the microwave results in the face of the microwave being soaked because the fan moves so little air from beneath, even on the highest (and noisiest) setting. A call to LG and the answer is if it will hold a paper towel against the bottom of the microwave with the fan on, it's working properly. Well, it will hold a paper towel, but it won’t move steam. Really sorry I bought this unit. A previous OTR microwave (not LG) didn’t have this problem.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect, but... Bought this to match the new range, and to replace a dead Maytag. It would be 5 stars, but I really miss the end reminder of the old one, and I feel like the shelf is too low inside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from microwave review LMV2031SW 2.0 cf and 1000 temp We bought this unit in October 2015 and have really enjoyed the unit. We have yet to do large items in the unit, however, we recommend the unit for large and small items. It goes quite well with the LG electric stove and the LG refrigerator, which we also have enjoyed for a year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a full size Microwave I purchased this as part of a kitchen remodel. For the past 13 years in two different houses, I've only had a small microwave without a turntable which I got used to and didn't think having a full size one as part of a kitchen remodel was going to make much of a difference to me. Add the fact that it cost more to run a dedicated circuit than the actual microwave and I really wasn't prepared for how much I would like having a full size microwave with a turntable and how often I would use it for convenience. One warning is that this model is designed to be used with 12" deep cabinets. As I ordered 15" deep cabinets, the back wall has to be built up at least a couple of inches for this to be mounted properly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality for Price This under the hood microwave was a great buy. Very easy to use, nice features and attractive cabinet. Best of all it is from the family of LG appliances known for its quality and dependability.

Should the interior light be on when cooking? Is there only one light bulb in the microwave oven?

Asked by: nan12
We appreciate your interest in this microwave oven. The interior does have one lamp, measuring 125V and 30W. This lamp should be active while the unit is in operation.

My microwave is less than a year old and it seems to have stopped heating the food ? Nothing will cook, although everything appears to be working normally? The power level says 100 and it runs.. Any idea what the problem could be ? Help please

Asked by: Meesh
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this microwave oven. If the unit is not heating, and unplugging and reconnecting the device has not reset the unit to proper operation, then it would seem that the unit may require service. It is possible to use this microwave as a kitchen timer. Simply press the TIMER button, then enter the needed TIME, and then press the START/ENTER button. When the time is complete, the unit will beep 7 times. This information is found on page 17 of your owner’s manual.

How does one change the charcoal filter? I just had mod.2031st installed two days ago by Home Depot and I can't figure out how to remove the screw that holds the cover panel on. Is there more than one screw? Do you have video to make change?

Asked by: Farsack
You can find a video of how to change the charcoal filter for the LG 2.0 cu.ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven, Model # LMV2031ST on the company site. Just go to www.lg.com/us and on the top bar under the browser, click on SUPPORT > In the 2nd column under "Product Help" click on Help Library > then in the "type a keyword then search" field, type in 'charcoal filter' and select the video from the drop down menu that pops up...^IFV

If unit is vented outside through the wall, is it normal that air is being pulled from the bottom and top of the unit. Seems as though the air flow is stronger from the top than the bottom. Could I have installed improperly?

Asked by: Jlm02
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this microwave oven. It does not seem that the unit has been installed properly. Some air should be drawn in from under the unit, and yet is only designed for exhaust from the top of the vent. If the duct is vented outward, then there should be no airflow from the upper vent.

Does this model require a vent grille to vent back into the kitchen?

If not, is any clearance between the upper cabinets and microwave required to prevent poor or minimal ventilation? Also, do you sell the mounting bracket and required hardware separately?
Asked by: DTOPPING
The LG 2.0 cu.ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven, Model # LMV2031ST has a vent that removes steam and other vapors from the surface cooking area. If the temperature from the range or cooktop below the oven gets too hot, the exhaust fan in the vent hood will automatically turn on at the HIGH setting to protect the oven. It may stay on up to an hour to cool the oven. When this occurs, the On/Off button will not turn the fan off. You cannot turn the exhaust fan off during microwave cooking. The minimal allowed clearance between the cabinets when installing the LMV2031ST is 30 inches and the minimum distance from the cooking surface to the bottom of the bottom of the upper cabinet is also 30 inches. The mounting brackets are attached on the back of the unit and the upper cabinet and wall templates that will assist you if you need to set up exterior venting are included but the venting materials for exterior venting are not included with the microwave oven, those must be purchased separately and the installation manual included with the microwave will identify what is needed...^IFV
