What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally a full size Microwave I purchased this as part of a kitchen remodel. For the past 13 years in two different houses, I've only had a small microwave without a turntable which I got used to and didn't think having a full size one as part of a kitchen remodel was going to make much of a difference to me. Add the fact that it cost more to run a dedicated circuit than the actual microwave and I really wasn't prepared for how much I would like having a full size microwave with a turntable and how often I would use it for convenience. One warning is that this model is designed to be used with 12" deep cabinets. As I ordered 15" deep cabinets, the back wall has to be built up at least a couple of inches for this to be mounted properly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Quality for Price This under the hood microwave was a great buy. Very easy to use, nice features and attractive cabinet. Best of all it is from the family of LG appliances known for its quality and dependability.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Over the top product Great products by LG. Microwave is quiet and each to use. Touch buttons are soft touch which makes it perfect for cooking. Air filter is relatively quite (not overly noisy) but air filters do generate some noise. Appreciated the versatility of wall venting or in room ventilation as I have block walls so rear venting was not an option. This microwave has many options without being overwhelming or difficult to use. All this and a stylish design to match the other appliances in the kitchen.Totally impressed!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Style & Performance This microwave looks great in my kitchen, above my LG Convection range. It also does everything it says it does. My only caveat is the I have only had it for a few months, and I don't use it very often. So far, I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Large oven space, easy to keep clean I like my new oven but a little disappointed in the wattage. Thought it would cook at a higher temp. I also found it a little confusing to operate at first but I am getting used to it. I find it hard to remember the codes for all the different food types.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Microwave I had my kitchen remodeled and did quite a bit of research before buying my new appliances. I am so glad I bought this one, it's easy to use, quiet and very attractive.

How does one change the charcoal filter? I just had mod.2031st installed two days ago by Home Depot and I can't figure out how to remove the screw that holds the cover panel on. Is there more than one screw? Do you have video to make change?

Asked by: Farsack
You can find a video of how to change the charcoal filter for the LG 2.0 cu.ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven, Model # LMV2031ST on the company site. Just go to and on the top bar under the browser, click on SUPPORT > In the 2nd column under "Product Help" click on Help Library > then in the "type a keyword then search" field, type in 'charcoal filter' and select the video from the drop down menu that pops up...^IFV

If unit is vented outside through the wall, is it normal that air is being pulled from the bottom and top of the unit. Seems as though the air flow is stronger from the top than the bottom. Could I have installed improperly?

Asked by: Jlm02
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this microwave oven. It does not seem that the unit has been installed properly. Some air should be drawn in from under the unit, and yet is only designed for exhaust from the top of the vent. If the duct is vented outward, then there should be no airflow from the upper vent.

Does this model require a vent grille to vent back into the kitchen?

If not, is any clearance between the upper cabinets and microwave required to prevent poor or minimal ventilation? Also, do you sell the mounting bracket and required hardware separately?
Asked by: DTOPPING
The LG 2.0 cu.ft. Over-the-Range Microwave Oven, Model # LMV2031ST has a vent that removes steam and other vapors from the surface cooking area. If the temperature from the range or cooktop below the oven gets too hot, the exhaust fan in the vent hood will automatically turn on at the HIGH setting to protect the oven. It may stay on up to an hour to cool the oven. When this occurs, the On/Off button will not turn the fan off. You cannot turn the exhaust fan off during microwave cooking. The minimal allowed clearance between the cabinets when installing the LMV2031ST is 30 inches and the minimum distance from the cooking surface to the bottom of the bottom of the upper cabinet is also 30 inches. The mounting brackets are attached on the back of the unit and the upper cabinet and wall templates that will assist you if you need to set up exterior venting are included but the venting materials for exterior venting are not included with the microwave oven, those must be purchased separately and the installation manual included with the microwave will identify what is needed...^IFV

Is this product designed to be installed into cabinet box?

Asked by: frogman
I don't believe so, given the power vent. An IN cabinet installation would require a lot of modification to the cabinet.
