What People Are Saying

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Takes forever We have this dryer in a rental property. Can't just wash and dry the sheets between tenants. Two sets of sheets and a few towels and I've been sitting here for 3 hours. Second load is no where near dry. The sheets just roll up inside of themselves or each other. This is ridiculous. I feel as though I should apologize to anyone who rents this unit.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2 years and 5 service calls junk Works great when it works; but has now been serviced 5 times, twice because it said to "empty water container" yet I the hose connected directly to a drain. The other 3 times, and what finally ended this was water leaking out of the bottom of the dryer. Thank goodness I had warranty and Lowe's replaced the drain pump once, but problem is still happening.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful Dryer I don't understand why people are rating this dryer at 4 stars when it takes them 2 hours to dry one load. This dryer cannot dry an entire load, we have had to break our washing loads into very small batches and even then it takes forever to dry. 3 hours to dry 3 towels, 1.5 hours to dry 1 fitted sheet and 2 pillow cases (not even the entire sheet set)... it's ridiculous!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for our condo Just love this dryer. Plays a cute tune when it is finished drying. Clothes smell really good and are fluffy, and I didn't even use fabric softener. (Does take longer to dry than a regular dryer). I've owned other brands, but this LG is my favorite.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great looks, features and quality This dryer came highly recommended as part of a combo set with the washer. It looks and works great. The features are easy to access and are very reliable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from really good dryer While it can take a while, it is a really good dryer. I have it stacked on the washer and it is great for a small apartment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Dryer I like this dryer very much. It works very well, is a good size for apartment living and is very quiet while operating. I've had it for over a month now and purchased it with the matching stackable washer #1377. My only issue is that the drying cycles tend to be quite long and there isn't an option for setting a specific amount of time for a cycle (at least not that I've learned's possible such an option exists). Still, overall, it's a very good machine.

What is the stacking kit needed for this unit. Does it come with the machines or sold separately?

Asked by: Bdailer
The owner's manual for the LG 24" Compact Ventless Electric Front Load Dryer, Model # DLEC855W shows that the Stacking Kit (2 EA.) and the Support Holders (2 EA.) that you need to stack the dryer onto the compatible washer are included accessories with the dryer...^IFV

Hi, how are you?  My question is can this unit be vented outside?  If not, how do we empty lint out the back and how long before we need to do so, every load?  Also, we do not have a lint filter for our dryer, so how can we purchase one.

Asked by: New Home Owner
We appreciate your interest in this Compact-sized Dryer. This device is a VENTLESS model. The majority of the lint will be collected on the lint screen. Any lint particles too small for the filter will be expelled through the condenser drain.

Regrading ventless dryer, DLEC855W, is there a way of hooking up the emptying drawer so that the water does not have to be manually emptied?

Asked by: inquiryredryer
Condensed water is pumped to the reservoir which must be emptied every load. If a household drain is available, this water can be pumped down the drain so the reservoir is not used. Slide the drain connection out the opening located on the back of the dryer on the right side as your face the rear of the dryer. Disconnect the hose from that goes up to the reservoir. Connect the external drain hose included with the dryer. Route this hose to a permanent drain and secure the hose so it can not come loose. This information, along with pictures, can be found on page 21 of your owner’s manual.

Was using dryer setting on "bulky" and it stayed at 11 minutes remaining for almost 15 minutes and then went back to 20 minutes remaining. I then stopped the cycle and took out the blanket and it was fairly dry. Is this normal?

Purchased this dryer and matching washer. Purchased a pedestal for the matching washer but cannot find one for the dryer. Considered purchasing a second pedestal for the washer, however, the dryer will not fit on the washer pedestal. Is one available?

Asked by: Jason W
I apologize, but no; this dryer has not been designed for compatibility with any pedestals from the manufacturer.

My dryer is set up to a drain but water still ends up in the reservoir and there have been leaks. Should there ever be water in the reservoir if you have a drain and hose???

Asked by: Tknyc
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this compact dryer. If the external drain is set up properly, then there should be no access for water to reach the reservoir. According to the instructions on page 21 of your owner’s manual, the internal hose is disconnected from that which runs to the reservoir, and that line is connected to your drain hose.
