What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great refrigerator This is my 2nd Lg refrigerator because I had to leave my first one in my condo when I sold. The new home did not have this refrig with the bottom freezer. It is a beautiful appliance and has all the features that I like.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Missing temperature readout..dumb! Just installed this refrigerator so I do not yet have much to go on. But one thing is missing. When you open the door there is a "Control Pad" that allows you to set the desired temperature for the refrigerator. This is fine and convenient (although I am not sure why I would change it from 37 degrees for refrig and 0 for the freezer.). But missing is a readout of the actual temperature. So how can someone know whether or not the freezer is at the required temperature..or the refrig? I cannot help but think that some marketing guru decided that they should save this "very valuable feature" for a higher priced model. Do I now have to go out and buy a freezer and refrig thermometer? The information is all there in the computer. The digital readout would cost a few penny to add if that. Poor going LG.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this fridge! Hated my 2 year old Whirlpool top freezer as shelf space was not designed well. This LG is PERFECT and has space I'm not even using yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best refrigerator that I have ever owned I bought this refrigerator last month. I was not sure how I would like the bottom freezer but now I do not know how I did without one. I am now able to fit more food in the top part and the freezer that make it easier for me to keep enough food to satisfy my family. I am so glad that I made this purchase. I also really enjoy the e-mails with tips about using and caring for my refrigerator.

How do you raise the temperature in the freezer/fridge

It's clear that pushing the 'refrigerator' or 'freezer' button lowers the temperature set point, but how do you raise it? The manual omits this information.
Asked by: BDBD
Yes, like Linda0710 and I found out the manual doesn't specifically tell you to keep pushing the button to raise the temperature from the preset of 37 degrees.  But if you keep pushing it goes up to 46 degrees and then you can drop it to whatever temperature you desire above the factory preset.

It never seems to have a clean look to it have tried every cleaning solution possible- starting to wonder if it's really stainless steel

Asked by: Dee Dee
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this refrigerator. The finish is, in fact, stainless steel. Be certain that, when cleaning and/or polishing and buffing the unit, that the cleaning motion runs with the grain of the metal, rather than across it.

what is causing a brown stain under the glass shelf?

We've had the refrigerator about 8 months. We've not got brownish stains between the full glass shelf and the framework for the crisper drawers. It looks like the glue holding these together has discolored, but makes it appear something brown has spilled all around the framework of the shelf! Is there a remedy? The shelf and framework appear to be glued together.
Asked by: Veazey
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this refrigerator. According to our information, the glass in the crisper cover is a separate component. As such, it would seem that a spill may be sticking the glass to the Crisper Cover. This glass should be able to lift out by pressing up beneath it.

We had purchased a LG refrig LDC24370 about 6 months ago. We love the refrigerator except one thing. It has this noise that is heard most of the day.

My husband said it's the compressor for the ice maker. I've been reading reviews and most people don't say anything about a noise. In fact, some say the refrigerator is so quiet that you don't even know it's running. Well that is not the case for us. It's actually annoying when working in the kitchen and sitting at the table. Could this noise be the compressor? Could we get this noise taken care of? Sue
Asked by: BobSue
It is possible that the noise you're hearing coming from your LG Large Capacity Bottom Freezer Refrigerator with Ice Maker (Fits a 33" Opening), Model # LDC24370SW is the compressor. Noises from the refrigerator may be a part of normal operation or due to a malfunction in the unit's functions. If the noise lasts for more than 30 minutes, then stops when the doors are opened, indicates that the noise is coming from one of the fans. If the refrigerator cabinet and doors are not leveled properly, frost buildup can occur on the fan. If the noise does not stop when the refrigerator doors are opened and does not last for more than 30 minutes, then noises are just a normal part of the refrigerator's function. Buzzing, humming or drilling noises can come from the compressor. The compressor will change speeds according to the needs of the refrigerator in order to cool both the freezer and refrigerator sections. If the compressor goes into a higher sped than normal, noises that resemble buzzing, knocking or banging may be heard. If the noises last longer than an hour, have recently become louder or can be heard in another room then the refrigerator may require repair service...^IFV
