What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Features I recent bought this refrigerator after having a side by side. I love the French Door style and love the ice maker with the tray in the freezer in the bottom draw. I have some much more room. All I can say is love, love, love.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We like it! We have had this fridge now for 3 months and we like it a lot. The dual ice makers are nice with 7 of us in the house. The 5 children can go through ice like crazy. I have no complaints of serious nature. I find it annoying to have to open both doors for the deli tray access. A four door would have been better I suppose. And I would have liked a shelf that allows you to slide it in for tall items like they have on some models. Maybe I can order one for this one. Otherwise, we are very happy with it. I recommend it!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad warrentee Had for 9 months making loud noise, repair man came out a&d service, put a piece of tape on compressor clip and bushing, noise stopped, 3 months later noise came back, looked at it my self, noise from same spot, lg said, out of warrentee you have to pay even though it was not fixed properly, and would not send me the bushing and clip, so I ended up finding them from Sears online ordered and installed myself like it should of been done in the first place. Very quiet now, but fridge water supply sticks and continues to flow after trying to get water out, owned now for 14 months, will have to pay and install myself to fix, even though they say parts are warrentee for 5 years. Lg is ok with temp fix while under warrentee, maven a piece of tape, so sad. I will not buy a lg product ever again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Satisfied We have had this refrigerator for 5 months now and we are very satisfied with our purchase. No problems at all to this point. I would like to see LG do something about the top drawer in the freezer. It comes out of the track very easily when you open the freezer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! After doing what seemed like endless amount of researching I picked this one! It was hands down the best for the price. I do not need all the fancy bells and whistle I just need for it to be functional. The dual ice maker comes in handy when you have guest over. The freezer holds more than I thought it would. But my favorite part is the fridge. Plenty of open space with the ability to adjust the shelfs if necessary. In addition to that, with the water spout being a little further out it means you can fill up any size container. Definitely a great buy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice refrigerator Large, well lit, ergonomic refrigerator. French doors make entire shelf and extra-wide drawers accessible. Drawers glide smoothly. Ambient noise is low when compressor runs or ice-maker fills. Extra wide shelves is a nice feature. Its size is huge and makes for less clutter. 3 minor issues: First: Ice-maker stopped working at about 6 months, but LG came in and replaced it promptly. Having seen how easy it is to replace this part, I suggest LG make the part available by mail and install instructions as a video for DIY install. Will save time, as repair technicians are not available in all areas. Second: Water dispenser is super strong making water splash out and onto the unit. Takes a bit getting used to. Third, make the wheels heavier-duty and wider as the unit is heavy and difficult to roll. Otherwise a lovely unit.

We moved and now our fridge isn't cooling or freezing. Is there a way to fix that?

Freezer bin insert

I removed the plastic bin insert to clean it and I cannot get it back in so that the door will close. How does this thing fit in here? When I tried to put it back in, the door won't shut all the way. Does it just rest on top somehow? Does the back of it actually fit over the black bar that the rollers are on? Please help!!
Asked by: Cadermonk
We are not clear on which part you are referring to as the plastic bin insert in the LG Ultra-Large Capacity 3 Door French Door Refrigerator with Dual Ice Makers, Model # LFX25973ST, but your owner's manual for the refrigerator has explicit instructions on how to remove and replace the drawers, bins, an shelves within the refrigerator along with illustrated diagrams. You may want to look at pages 34 and 35 to see how to get it back in or see how it should fit...^IFV

Could the filter be effecting how much ice is being produced in the main ice bin?

The ice maker in the French door is only producing a few ice cubes at a time. We've checked the sensors, water connection, turned it off for a few minutes then back on. Only thing I think it could be is maybe the filter is effecting it.
Asked by: MeganDawn86
There are many reasons that you can troubleshoot that may be responsible for slow ice production but the water filter in your LG Ultra-Large Capacity 3 Door French Door Refrigerator with Dual Ice Makers, Model # LFX25973ST is not one of them. The minimum recommended temperature setting for normal ice production in the freezer section is -4°F. If the temperature is set warmer, ice production will occur at a slower rate. Opening the doors frequently allows cold air to escape which prevents the unit from reaching its' set temperature and that also affects ice production. Setting the temperature lower helps, as well as opening the doors less frequently. You may also want to check the water line in the back to ensure that it is not kinked, pinched or damaged. Kinks and pinches in the water line can cause a build-up of pressure in the water line which can affect the ice production. You may also want to try the Ice Plus feature. When this feature is activated, the freezer section will run at the coldest temperature for a 24-hour period to increase ice production. Keep the ice compartment door closed tightly. If the ice compartment door is not closed tightly, the cold air in the ice bin will freeze food in the refrigerator compartment. This could also cause the Ice Maker to stop producing ice. You may also want to check to make sure that the water pressure is between 40 and 120 psi (280 and 830kPa) for your Ice Maker to produce the normal amount and size of ice cubes. Also look to make sure that the sensor area on the ice detecting sensor is clean at all times for proper operation, foreign substances or frost on the ice detecting sensor can interrupt ice production...^IFV

The water switch gets stuck sometimes, how can I fix it?

The water switch on the LFX21971ST gets stuck, so that water keeps coming out. It gets stuck when you press it near the top of the switch. Its easy to get it unstuck, but not before a lot of water sprays all over the floor.
Asked by: saurin
Hello Saurin. Regrettably, the way that the LG Ultra-Large Capacity 3 Door French Door Refrigerator with Dual Ice Makers, Model # LFX25973ST is designed, the touch control for the water will require getting into the door to fix and that will have to be done by a service technician. If you would like to schedule a repair service, you can submit a request via https://www.lg.com/us/support/repair-service/schedule-repair or you can contact the LG Customer Interactive Center and have a Call Representative assist you with it...^IFV
