What People Are Saying

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Screen died The screen started getting dark areas and totally went black after only 2 years of using

Rated 1 out of 5 by from VERY disappointed Model Number 47LN5400 - Manufactured Sep 2013 - S/N 309RMBWD0453 - Died 29 January 2016. Has sound - picture has left the building. Can't believe such a highly rated item would go belly up in such a short period of time. The TV went directly from its box to the tv stand - never bumped, dropped, or jostled. Will NEVER own another LG product if this is an indication of LG quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trash after 2 years I purchased this TV and was very happy with it , then out of nowhere the backlight went ! Just shy of its 2 year birthday! Brought is to a repair shop and was told it's not worth fixing ! I'm so disappointed! I'll never buy another LG product again !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from PICTURE WENT OUT. We bought this TV on 11/29/2013 and the picture went black on 1/08/2016. (still has audio) Trying now to figure out if it can be fixed and at what cost.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stopped Working We bought this tv when we moved into our condo and it was great up until 1 week ago when the screen was blank, no sound. Called cable first and he said no it was definitely the tv. Bought extended warranty and they are coming next Tuesday but after reading some reviews where the same thing happened to their tv, I'm concerned it can't be fixed. Then what happens? I will update after Tuesday.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Was great while it worked but surprise, surprise the LED back lighting went out 1 year and 2 months after purchase. Just out of warranty. I've now had 2 LG TV's die due to hardware problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A worthless TV, unrepairable I purchased this model in the fall of 2013. I worked fine for 15 months then the video went out. Finally, after months of trying to get it diagnosed, I find out it can't be repaired. LG makes no parts to repair this model.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great TV until it falls over on it's face My cat got friskie and knocked the satellite receiver off the shelf pulling the TV over on its face. The screen hit the corner of a foot stool and it was all over for this TV! The screens are EXTREMELY fragile! That's my only complaint. The replacement is bolted down with the receiver directly under it. NO CAT ACCESS!

I have a 50LN5400 and the picture began to flicker in the upper left (while looking at the front of TV) and now there is no longer a picture, just sound. Is there a fix for this or not?

Asked by: Oyoklk
Had the same with an lg 47ln5400. Screen went out, sound worked fine. When you power it on, the screen will flash for a half a second, then doesn't work.  This is a problem with defective LEDs in the set. You can fix it with a screwdriver, a new LED strip, and a few hours of work taking the set apart and fixing and then putting back together again. I just fixed mine yesterday. There's a YouTube video of a guy doing exactly this. It's about a 22 minute video you'll find if you search "repair LG 47ln5400 screen flash". Good luck!

Can you tell me the fastener sizes so I can mount the base? The originals were lost somewhere along the way.

Asked by: rorypoulson
We appreciate your interest in this television. According to page 9 of the owner’s manual, it appears that the stand will require a total of 7 screws: four M4x14 and three P5x25 screws.
