IPS 4K Panel

IPS 4K Panel

LG’S IPS panel puts brilliance on display with a wider 4K viewing angle than Samsung 4K TV*s. One of the secrets behind LG TVs outstanding ULTRA high-definition performance is the specially designed TV panel. The quality of the panel helps determine the quality of the picture, and our IPS (In-Plane Switching) panel makes any seat the best in the house.

Tru-4K Engine

Tru-4K Engine

The recently developed HEVC (short for High Efficiency Video Coding) compression format is essential to ULTRA HD/4K, enabling next-generation video playback to meet the demands of UHD TVs. 4K video uses HEVC, and so the built-in HEVC decoder on this LG ULTRA HD television makes it ready to display 4K content.

What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart TV is my first Got great value. Dual purpose, great sound and commercial modes. AV sync offset = nice. Extra options and downloadable app content unlimited and fun. No degrade on powersave modes that usually make colors bad. youtube is super awesome especially using extra device picture is there when browsing the web, but really its about the screencast. WIth smartphone as remote and all, UHD and open API, the picture and sound was better than expected, the bandwidth saved streaming in certain apps (h.265) is also quite a plus. Owned for 4 months, much left I haven't touched.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Smart Feature Very Dumb I've had an LG high definition television before and was very satisfied with it. So when I decided to upgrade to a Smart TV I chose LG again. I was not familiar with the new 4UHD technology but since the price was right bought it. I'm really disappointed as it relates to the Smart feature for this television. When I first attempted to access the apps I encountered problems. I really didn't think it was a big deal, it's a new TV maybe it has to calibrate, identify and get to know my wifi network. I gave it a few weeks. When I tried again, same problem unable to access the apps. Geek Squad suggested that it was my wifi connection. Of course I contacted my internet provider, and I went through a lot of troubleshooting applications like, renaming my network, rebooting the router and finally identifying the television's IP address. I even purchased a wifi extender. What more can be done. The apps are still not working properly. For instance, I installed the iheart radio app. When the next time I tried to access this app another time, I was taken to the installation screen. I don't know what to do at this point, and it's so frustrating because I have this item that is not working to my satisfaction. What is a magic remote, anyway?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from slow software best 60" 4k given the price and quality. color is good, speakers are decent for being in the TV. I love that there is audio normalization built in that makes quiet sounds louder and loud sounds quieter. My biggest complaint is that the smart interface where you access Netflix, Hulu, etc. is VERY SLOW! Once the movie/show starts, it's fine but going through the menus hurts.

Adobe Flash for the Internet

I saw in a post that adobe flash was not capable with the software. I was trying to watch a yahoo live nation video stream and realized that I didn't have it. When will your company provide an system update that has the ability to view internet video streaming from different platforms such as Yahoo or uses Flash. While I understand that we can use youtube and other built-in apps, but it would be great if we could the Internet given the fact that you offered the Internet as an option on the Smart TV.
Asked by: amcreate
We appreciate your interest in this television. This TV model has not been designed for compatibility with full versions of the Adobe Flash Player. Those TVs which are designed with a version of Flash Player utilize a Mobile version. The internal memory of the TV cannot support a full version of the Flash Player. Unfortunately, Adobe no longer supports, nor provides, mobile versions of a Flash Player. As such, it is not possible to provide an updated Flash Player version.

I cannot seem to get a very clear picture outside of Netflix or Amazon Prime.

The TV picture seems blurry, and not as sharp as I'd expect, and the DVD (an LG BluRay player) is also not so clear.

Can you hook up an old audio amp to use surround sound?

Is there a method to hook up an older audio system for surround sound that doesn't have optical inputs? I have an LG 60UB8200 TV.
Asked by: Danwbrews
How you connect an older receiver to the LG 60" Class (59.5" Diagonal) UHD 4K Smart LED TV, Model # 60UB8200's Optical Digital output will depend on what connections you have on your old receiver. Older receiver's, depending on how old, had the Coaxial Digital Input on them and if yours had that, you could get an converter that allows you to connect one end to the TV's Optical Digital Output and connect the other end of the converter to the coaxial input on the receiver. Regrettably, we do not know what inputs you have on your older audio amp so without that knowledge, we cannot determine what to recommend...^IFV
