What People Are Saying

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product I have been using the washer/dryer combo and find that it fits my life style. I can put the clothes in and leave. When I come back everything is done. There is no moving the laundry from washer to dryer. This is very convenient. It does take some getting use to the different cycles and the drying time but it is worth taking the time to learn. If the cycle fits the clothes you are washing and drying the clothes come out looking great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and Convenient! I bought this Machine because I have 2 small kids and a full time job didn't have the time to remember to transfer clothing from the washer to a dryer..When I found this machine online I was doubtful, but it works wonders. Its easy to set for each wash. I load it up before I go to bed or to work and return to find nicely washed and dried clothing..(all thats missing is a machine that folds. Hopefully LG comes up with that next!! ) It also gives you the option to wash only or spin only or dry only. Its perfect! And it washes large enough loads like king sized Comforters cleanly. Overall its a good buy and its energy efficient, that by itself makes it worth it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We love our LG Washer Dryer Combo When we downsized into a smaller house as empty-nesters, we wanted to have everything on one floor of our 1,440 square foot ranch. The previous owners had their laundry in the basement. When our appliance dealer introduced the LG WM3997HWA I was at first skeptical, but my wife was convinced that this would be perfect for us. We did our research and, while we were at first concerned about drying, we became suitably impressed with the reviews that were out there and, armed with that encouraging word, we went back to our appliance dealer and purchased it. We had it installed and started to learn how to operate this new piece of appliance technology. It is perfect for our small family and the features make it a terrific and wise investment. We are fully delighted!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 3 hours to dry I have owned my washer/dryer combo for a little over a year. I thought the convenience of the washer and dryer would compensate for the lack of drying time, but I was wrong. Even when set for the maximum drying time of 2 1/2 hours, I still need at least another hour to get the load dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Convenient! I live in an apartment so this was a great option for me since I do not have a traditional washer dryer area. I especially love that I can sit in a chair in front of LG combo and put laundry in, set it to wash and dry and I am done. No having to move it to the dryer like traditional washer and dryers. This unit is great for people that are disabled like me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LG all in one washer dryer Love the simplicity of having a all-in-one unit. After a little research, reading reviews, I found that this washer dryer all in one that my needs completely. I would recommend this to anyone who has the need for free time, and not having to worry about transferring loads from the washer to the dryer

Rated 4 out of 5 by from There's a Solution to not drying! Love it! However the problem everyone else has had with drying is you have to lower the drain outlet as close to the floor as possible. I cut my drain hose to fit perfectly straight down into it. Dries perfectly!! It will not dry if the water has to travel upward. It cleans great, tub is large, doesn't need a lot of soap, love the customizable settings but I need to look at the chart so I put it in a sheet protector and hung it up next to machine for reference. I love the little song it plays at the end. I love this, got it on sale and 10% off that on Veterans Day so this is sooooo great. OH BEWARE people really don't know anything about these yet, not the Lowes appliance salesmen, not the electrician, plumber, or anyone else I know. Thus trying to get advice or help won't be of any use. I watched YouTube video of a guy who used a tub to release the water into but instead I moved the drain outlet down to the bottom of the wall and it drains perfectly and dries as it should. No problems! Just patching the wall up and painting but so what I have

Can I safety assume this combo unit automatically goes from washing to drying on it's own......or must it be done manually after the wash cycle?

Asked by: Combo Lady
Yes the dry cycle begins automatically after the wash cycle completes (if you want it to). Great feature - I set it with a delayed start before I go to work and I get home just as the dry cycle has complete.

Just hooked this up last week - The right side and the top get EXTREMELY hot during dry cycle - is that normal?

Asked by: RatManDo
We regret the trouble you have experienced with this washing machine. The location described seems to be near where the DRYING/HEATING element is located, along the top of the machine. This may be normal operation. If the machine does not appear to be operating properly, then it may require service. To make service arrangements, you may either contact our Customer Interactive Center at 800-243-0000, or you can check our Repair Provider Lookup on our website, at http://www.lg.com/us/support/repair/support-repair-provider-lookup.jsp.

My NEW washer/dryer leaks a LOT of water shortly after starting the dry portion of the cycle. It drains appropriately at other times during the wash and rinse, but at dry it drains to the floor. What's wrong? Is this something that can be repaired?

The washer is not completing an giving me a "UE"... what does that mean?

Asked by: Suzy Q

How do I clean out the lint around the rubber gasket? How often should the drain pump be cleaned out?

Asked by: Shannon F
In the 'Maintenance' section that begins on page 29 of your owner's manual for the LG Front Load Washer / Dryer Combo, Model # WM3997HWA are instructions for how to remove the drain pump filter to check for foreign objects or lint that may prevent the washer from draining (page 33). Your washer will display a "DE" code on its' display to indicate that the drain pump filter is clogged and you would need to clean it. You will want to check the drain pump filter periodically for foreign objects and lint and how often you need to clean it out will depend on how often you uses the washer/dryer. Some clothes are lint producers and some will produce more lint than others. You will also find instructions on page 34 (Cleaning the door seal) that has explicit instructions on how to clean the door seal. IF you need a copy of the owner's manual, you can visit the product information page on our site (www.lg.com/us) for the WM3997HWA and on it's Support page you can download and print out a copy of the owner's manual...^IFV
