What People Are Saying

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great combo washer/dryer, saves space, super quiet I bought this due to I live in a very small park model home at around 500 square feet. I have no more regular hookups in my breaker box, and would have to hire an electrician to upgrade the breaker box to add anything that uses higher voltage. I decided to get a washer/dryer for my home, and came across this model from LG. I have a screened in porch on the side of my home and decided this would work great here. Most people in my community have sheds for their washer/dryers. I already have a power outlet outside, just had a plumber tap into my hot and cold lines and add a water discharge line through the sewer lines. Took less than an hour. I installed the rest from when the product was delivered. I hooked up the water and power which was a breeze and made sure my water outlet was very low to the ground, so water could leave the washer/dryer easier and it would help with the drying cycle. I also installed this unit on one of the stands and then a mini washer stackable from LG. Made the unit very tall, which is great for me, since I’m very tall, easier to load clothes into. I’ve used this product for a few months now and have had absolutely no problems with it. If you over load it with tons of clothes, yes it will take longer to dry your clothes. I usually put a load in up to half of the drum and it washes and dries perfectly for me. I never check to see how much time is left, I just go out and get my clothes a couple hours later and they are usually done. I’ve put large comforters, tons of blankets, and other bulky items and have dried them and haven’t had the first problem that a lot of others are speaking about. I really think that the exhaust water hose really does need to be closer to ground lever to not have any problems. I read all the reviews and did this before installing and it worked perfectly. My clothes come out exceptionally clean, never have stains, always smell great! I use the beads in the washing drum, tide and fabric softener on every load. I’ve left clothes in the tub for four or five days and have came back and there is no mildew or no standing water smell. I live in Florida and my unit is on a screened in porch and gets pretty warm in the summer time, and hasn’t affected any of the cleaning results. I hope this unit last a long, long time and if it does when I need any upgrades I will definitely choose LG!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love this machine but... I bought mine over 2 years ago and have been very happy happy with the exception of having to replace the pump not once but twice. The unit is very easy to use and does have a little bit of a learning curve coming from a standard washer and dryer. After a little experimenting, I can was and dry a load in about 3 hours with no wrinkles. I really like the different cycles and with small children, the allergen and sanitary cycles come in very handy. I looked for a unit that had a large capacity and LG is the only one I could find that had the features and capacity that I was looking for .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I was happy at first but... I received my washer/dryer combo on October 28 and it took a few uses before I was happy with my finished laundry. After reading reviews I was able to figure out how to have wrinkle free clothes and I was very happy that I purchased this combo machine. But two weeks ago the machine started leaking from the bottom and I can’t figure out the problem. I did everything the manual said to do in the trouble section but it’s still leaking. It’s a very expensive machine so I didn’t expect to have problems after six weeks of use doing three loads a week. If fnot for that problem I would say I love the machine. I haven’t called for service yet, I guess I’m hoping it’ll stop leaking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the wait! We purchased this unit from Lowes on 10/22/17 with the matching pedestal. It arrived on 12/08/17. Our unit was originally arranged to discharge into the standard PVC laundry standpipe. During the test load we discovered this would not do. The discharge overwhelmed the carrying capacity of the standpipe. After wiping up the water on the flooor, the discharge was redirected into the laundry tub sink, solving the volume/capacity issue. This machine has so far exceeded our expectations. It is great at cleaning and drying (not as fast as a conventional). The second load washed was a king size poly filled comforter. Bulky setting, more dry. It came out fresh and fluffy. So after testing capacity with the comforter, our next load was work clothes, dirty from construction work. Outstanding showing on the grime! Next up was towels. Again, a wonderful job. King sized sheet set on Allergiene setting (just to test the steam function). Amazing! We've never had a machine that steamed. I can't imagine not having this feature. It's nearly magical. It removed a stain that had been on one of the pillow cases forever. White socks and jockey shorts followed. Awesome results! So, now that we are two weeks into ownership, and have used every cycle repeatedly, we can state unequivocally that while pricey, this unit is worth it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great in Colorado Adjusting the drain pipe and correctly loading our clothes fixed the damp clothes issue. There was a burnt smell the first few times, but went away within a month. Yes, because it uses a lower voltage to dry clothes, expect it to take longer. We usually hang our clothes to dry in the sun still, but if it’s raining or it’s something bulky like bedding, we like not having to move it from the washer to a dryer. And with the dry Midwest air in Colorado, we welcome the humidity this puts into our house. Even though it is an HE machine, make sure you make it a full load because it still uses quite a bit of water depending on the mode used. I emailed LG and they gave me the estimated gallons used per mode: Sanitary Wash Total: 26.42 Bright Whites Total: 57.06 Bulky Bedding Total: 61.29 Heavy Duty Total: 17.17 Perm. Press/Casual Total: 38.57 Cotton/Normal Total: 17.17 Baby Wear Total: 38.57 Towels Total: 38.57 Sportswear Total: 38.57 Pure Color Total: 38.57 Speed Wash Total: 38.57 Wool Wash Total: 38.57 Delicates Wash Total: 38.57

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Biggest Waste of Money! I purchased this machine primarily to save space. What a mistake! It washes ok but it takes forever to dry and everything comes out wrinkled. I am very disappointed in this product. It uses excessive water for what is supposed to be HE..

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not worth it So, I've had this machine for over a year and it's been decent for washing BUT it has been leaving yellow stains on ALL of our clothes. Bleach doesn't even take it out! It's good for washing if you hang dry but if you intend on it to be a quick dryer it is not.

How to dry clothes using the dryer?

Asked by: Feliciajohn666
Drying options are easily selected with the DRY button. For the most even drying, make sure all articles in the clothes load are similar in material and thickness. Do not overload the washer by placing too many articles into the drum. Items must be able to tumble freely. If you open the door and remove the load before the washer has finished the DRY cycle, remember to press the START/ PAUSE button. The capacity of the machine for washing clothes is twice as much as when drying clothes. If the machine is to be used to dry a load, then the wash load must be reduced by half for effective drying performance. If a full load is washed, remove half the clothes prior to starting the dry cycle. For more information, please see page 26 in your manual. ^AC

Can you use powder detergent?

Asked by: Sabbbbb
The manufacturer recommends the use of a liquid or powdered High Efficiency (HE) detergent in the appropriate detergent cup in order for the unit to be able to dispense the detergent and other additives at the appropriate time during the wash cycle. It is recommended to only use additives labeled specifically for HE washing machines. ^CP

I'm used to using fabric sheets to the dryer, can I do with the all in one?

Asked by: AveryF
Sorry, but no. If it gets pulled down between the inner drum and outer tub it could clog in the drain. ^AC

Approximately, how many gallons of water does the machine use for the longer cycles?

Asked by: MmChi
Water consumption is dependent on load size, type and options selected. Longer cycle doesn’t necessarily mean more water consumption. Some cycles agitate longer, rather than use more water. Typically a Sanitary cycle use around 22 gallons on an 8lb load. Without options, this is on the high end of the consumption. Not to say this is the max, but on the higher end. ^AC
