Screen brightness changes on its own

LG TVs provide convenience of custom optimization settings for each input device via individual settings for Picture/Sound mode for each different signal source input terminal.

In addition to input terminal, HDR & Dolby Vision / Atmos pictures are separately applied optimized picture/sound mode designed specifically to enjoy content provided appropriately.

Therefore, screen brightness may change when the input signal source is changed to another or when the content being played is changed to HDR/Dolby Vision video format.

By setting the screen mode for each individual input terminal and each HDR/Dolby content, you can enjoy the best optimized picture quality video content based on respective signal source.

When Viewing Regular Video Signals

Personalized Picture (only supported on webOS23 models)

Using artificial intelligence deep learning technology, it analyzes image quality adapting best viewing configuration possible.

Vivid

Sharpens the image by increasing the contrast, brightness, and sharpness. Imagine viewing a coloring book. Setting mode best suited for incredibly well-lit spacious room such as retailers’ showroom.

Standard

Displays the picture with natural contrast, brightness, and sharpness levels. Ultimate best choice for any viewers choosing not to experiment with all possible picture settings and options favoring most adequate viewing conditions.

Auto Power Save

Auto Power Save (APS) reduces power consumption by using dimming control. Not that your television already consumes much power but, for some, every little bit counts. Be wary of the more drastic changes when scenes go from dark to bright back and forth.

Expression Enhancer

It is a technology to improve the contrast and expression of foreground, background, and object by analyzing the information of the HDR image.

Cinema

This mode is perfectly suitable to view film content in the evening as it emulates the movie theater environment while making it easy on the eyes.

Game Optimizer

Picture mode specifically designed to accommodate game consoles for video game playing while enhancing the viewer experience.

FILMMAKER MODE

Provides optimized Cinema Picture quality certified by UHD Alliance, the standard setting body for UHD-related technologies.

  • To auto-switch to FILMMAKER MODE whenever a movie signal that can run seamlessly and impeccably in this mode is accessed, enable FILMMAKER MODE Auto Start by turning it On.

ISF ccc IconExpert (day) / ISF ccc IconExpert (night)

ISF ccc IconExpert mode is an option that allows a certified picture quality expert to fine-tune the picture displayed on screen by correcting the white balance and bring primary colors to their most accurate coordinates. Only mode for which settings get locked in. Ultimate settings for any diehard cinephile.

ISF ccc IconExpert (night) has lower color temperature than ISF ccc IconExpert (day).

Select a mode that is suitable for the movie being watched depending on the time of day.

This mode is perfectly suitable to view film content in the evening as it emulates the movie theater environment while making it easy on the eyes and aptly suitable to immaculately reproduce HDR video signals.

Game Optimizer

Picture mode specifically designed to accommodate game consoles for video game playing while enhancing the viewer experience.

FILMMAKER MODE

Provides optimized Cinema Picture quality certified by UHD Alliance, the standard setting body for UHD-related technologies.

  • To auto-switch to FILMMAKER MODE whenever a movie signal that can run seamlessly and impeccably in this mode is accessed, enable FILMMAKER MODE Auto Start by turning it On.
  • If an HDR/Dolby Vision video signal is input to TV models that do not support the HDR/Dolby Vision technology, normal signal picture mode options will be made available.
  • Depending upon the input signal, the available picture modes may be different.
  • When watching online service content, the Picture Mode may be changed to match the content being shown.
  • ISF ccc IconExpert mode is an option that allows a certified picture quality expert to fine-tune the picture displayed on screen by correcting the white balance and bring primary colors to their most accurate coordinates. Only mode for which settings get locked in. Ultimate settings for any diehard cinephile.
  • Select Mode changes may modify Energy Saving and Motion Eye Care settings and it can affect energy consumption. You can customize the selected picture mode by changing the settings in General Energy Saving and Picture Advanced Settings Brightness Motion Eye Care.
