[LG Wireless Speaker] Why is my USB drive not recognized?

The speaker supports USB drives formatted as FAT16 or FAT32 only.
If your USB isn’t recognized, check the format and file extensions.
If everything looks correct, connect the USB drive to another device to make sure it’s working.
Note that some USB-C ports are for charging only.

USB Not Recognized? Try These Steps

  • Check the format: The speaker supports USB drives formatted as FAT16 or FAT32 only. Other formats (e.g., NTFS, exFAT) are not supported.
  • Check the file type: Unsupported audio formats may not play on the speaker.
  • Test the USB drive: Connect it to another device to confirm it’s working properly.
  • Check USB-C Capability: Some ports are for charging only and do not support data transfer.

How to Connect a USB Drive

Locate the USB port on the speaker.

Open the port cover and insert the USB drive directly into the port.
Note: Connection via USB hubs or extension cables is not supported.

Press the Function button on the unit to select USB mode.
The speaker will begin reading the device once the display or LED indicator switches to USB mode.

Verify USB-C Port Usage.

On some models, the USB-C port is only for charging or power supply.
It does not support audio playback or file transfer. Please refer to the User Manual.
