Sabbath Mode (sb) - [Refrigerator]

Operation

Sabbath Mode

Very Important Notice If the Sabbath mode was accidentally activated on your refrigerator and upon reading instructions to turn it off you realize your refrigerator DOES NOT feature a Water Filter Replace button on the control panel, then press and hold down the ICE PLUS button for 3 seconds to deactivate the Sabbath Mode.

Major appliance manufacturers have been incorporating a Sabbath mode option to their ovens and refrigerators. This mode allows Orthodox Jews to use and interact with the kitchen appliances during the holy period.

Sabbath mode was designed so that Orthodox Jews can avoid the lights and sounds from a refrigerator and have them use the oven without having to turn on its electrical system. The Sabbath requires that no fan, light, icon, digit, display or tone from any appliance get activated.

When Sabbath mode is enabled, the appliance can be used without having to be powered on or turned off, which is prohibited during the holy time. For instance, the refrigerator's Sabbath mode won’t stop the appliance from operating, but it will keep the interior light from turning on.

Using the Sabbath Mode

Sabbath mode is used on the Jewish Sabbath and Holidays.

  • To turn Sabbath mode on, touch the display to activate it, then press and hold the Freezer and Wi-Fi buttons for 3 seconds until sb appears in the display.
  • To turn Sabbath mode off manually, press and hold the Freezer and Wi-Fi buttons for 3 seconds.
Note :
  • Sabbath mode automatically turns off after 96 hours.
  • Once turned on, Sabbath mode is maintained even after a power outage.
  • Selecting Sabbath mode automatically turns off the alarm functions.
  • The dispenser and InstaView are disabled in Sabbath mode, on applicable models.
  • Keep containers at an appropriate distance from the dispensers. Tall, narrow glases should be held far enough from the ice outlet to prevent ice from jamming in the ice chute. A container with a very small opening should be held as close to the dispenser as possible to avoid spilling.
