How to adjust uneven doors on your LG refrigerator

If the doors on your LG refrigerator are uneven, you can level it by turning the leveling legs or height adjustment screws at the bottom with a wrench.
However, if the doors are misaligned front-to-back, we recommend contacting LG Customer Support for assistance, as adjusting them yourself could damage the floor.

Why are the refrigerator doors uneven?

If the floor under the refrigerator is uneven or not solid, the refrigerator may not sit level. This can cause the doors to become uneven.

How to align uneven refrigerator doors

Step 1. Align doors that are uneven in height

You can adjust the door height using the height adjustment screw at the bottom hinge. Follow these steps:

  1. 1. Prepare the tool: Use the wrench included with your refrigerator.
  2. 2. Loosen the locking nut: Open the door that needs to be adjusted. Turn the locking nut at the bottom clockwise to loosen it.
  3. 3. Adjust the door height: Turn the height adjustment screw to align the doors.
    - Turn it clockwise to lower the door.
    - Turn it counterclockwise to raise the door.
  4. 4. Tighten the locking nut: Once the doors are aligned, turn the lock nut counterclockwise until it is securely tightened.

[For models without height adjustment screws]

Some models do not have height adjustment screws. In this case, turn the leveling legs at the bottom to level the refrigerator.


Step 2. How to fine-tune the left and right doors

Open the door, then turn the leveling hinge clockwise or counterclockwise with the wrench to adjust the height. The left door can be adjusted up to 2 mm.

[How to adjust the right door]

Turn the leveling hinge clockwise or counterclockwise with the wrench to adjust the door that sits lower.
If the doors are still uneven after lowering the hinge all the way, you can use a door clip to raise the door. Each clip raises the door by 1 mm, and you can use up to two clips.

Important

  • If the refrigerator doors are misaligned from the front to back and they need to be aligned, moving the unit may damage the floor.
    In this case, we recommend contacting LG Customer Support for assistance, not to do it yourself.
