How do I use the Tub Clean cycle on my washing machine ?

How to Clean the Tub of Your LG Washing Machine

If there is lint buildup in the tub or if the tub smells moldy, use washing machine cleaners regularly to keep it clean. You can maintain a fresh and clean tub by running the Tub Clean cycle once every month.

When you see ‘tcL’ flashing on the control panel, it indicates that it’s time to clean the tub. Simply empty the washing machine and run the Tub Clean cycle.

How to prevent musty odor and build ups from the tub

  • 1. After each cycle, leave the door or lid open until the tub is completely dry.

  • 2. Use the correct amount of detergent and fabric softener as recommended by the manufacturers. For concentrated softeners, dilute them with water before use.

  • 3. Maintain a clean washer by regularly cleaning the tub, preferably once a month.

  • 4. We do not recommend using natural detergents (soap) because they do not dissolve well in water and can cause dirt buildup inside the tub.

  • 5. If the unit is installed in a damp, dark area or has not been used for an extended period, more dust and residue can accumulate in the tub. If the tub has not been cleaned for over six months, it is advised to run the tub cleaning cycle three times consecutively.
