Troubleshooting Washing Machines 03/09/2025

Before making a purchase or reinstalling your LG washing machine or dryer, use this guide to check whether the unit can be safely installed in your home.
You can find the dimensions of your chosen washing machine or dryer model on the LG Electronics website.
The information below serves as a general reference. For additional assistance, please contact LG Customer Support.

Check the installation location

Check if the installation space is sufficient for the size of the product to be purchased or installed.
- To prevent vibration and noise, the washing machine should be installed on a hard, even floor, such as cement or concrete.
Please note that installation on wooden, metal, or steeply sloped floors may cause vibration and noise during use.

If the water supply is behind the washer

Allow at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) on each side and 0.2 inches (0.5 cm) above the washer.
Ensure a clearance of at least 4 inches (10 cm) between the back of the unit and the water supply.
The front requires a clearance of 19.6 to 23.6 inches (50 to 60 cm), considering the door opening.


When installing a washing machine, if the water pipe is at the back, the space required for installation based on the size of the washing machine is 5 cm on both sides and 10 cm at the back based on the water pipe.

If the water supply is next to the washer

Allow 4 inches (10 cm) between the water supply and the side of the washer, 1 inch (2.5 cm) on the opposite side, and 0.19 inches (0.5 cm) above the washer.
A clearance of at least 4 inches (10 cm) is required between the back of the unit and wall, and the front requires 19.6 to 23.6 inches (50 to 60 cm) of additional space, considering the door opening.


When installing a washing machine, if the water pipe is in the front, the space required for installation based on the size of the washing machine is 10 cm from the water pipe on the side and 10 cm from the wall at the back.

Check the delivery path

Check the delivery path to the installation location to ensure safe delivery of the product.
The actual product dimensions and packaging size may vary depending on the product model.

※ To safely move the product, ensure a space of 5 to 10cm (1.9 to 3.9 inches) between the packaged product and the delivery path (hallway, stairs, etc.).


When moving by elevator, please allow 5 to 10cm (1.9~3.9inches) of space on both sides compared to the size of the product. When entering the front door, there needs to be 5 to 10cm (1.9~3.9inches) of space on both sides compared to the size of the washing machine. When moving the product on stairs, a space of 5 to 10cm (1.9~3.9inches) is required on both sides. When moving through the hallway, you need 5-10cm (1.9~3.9inches) of space between the left and right. When entering the installation space, a space of 5 to 10 cm (1.9~3.9inches) is required on both sides.
