[LG Top Load Washer Foreign Object] Detergent or white powder is transferring onto my clothes

Troubleshooting

Let's find out more.

When washing bulky and lightweight laundry, undissolved detergent may leave residue if the laundry is not fully submerged in water.
Detergent residue may also be left on fabrics if you use more than the recommended amount or pour detergent directly onto the clothes.

Also, be sure to check pockets for tissues or receipts before washing.
If tissues or paper are washed together with the laundry, they may leave a white, powder-like residue on the fabrics.

Try this.

Was the laundry washed with tissues or paper (receipts, etc.)?

➔ For models with a lint filter, remove and clean the lint filter, and then clean the tub using the Tub Clean cycle.

If you do not clean the tub, the remaining debris may continue to stick to your laundry.

Did you use too much detergent?

➔ Please use detergent designed for top load washing machines according to the manufacturer's recommended amount.

If you use too much detergent or use cold water during winter, the detergent may not dissolve well and can leave residue on your laundry.
Using the proper amount of detergent with warm water is effective for dissolving the detergent.

※ For some cycles, the use of warm water is restricted to prevent fabric damage.

Natural detergents are not recommended.
Natural detergents (such as soap) do not dissolve well in water and can easily contaminate the tub.
Please use detergent designed for top load washing machines.

Make sure to remove the liquid detergent cup when using powder detergent.
For some models with a liquid detergent cup, you must remove the liquid detergent cup before adding powder detergent to the dispenser.
If you put powder detergent in the liquid detergent cup, it may not dispense properly, leaving residue on your clothes or resulting in poor washing performance.
※ For details on how to use the liquid detergent cup, please refer to the user manual.
For models without a liquid detergent cup, pour the recommended amount of liquid detergent directly into the tub with the laundry just before washing.
Delay Wash is not recommended when using liquid detergent, as leaving the detergent on the clothes for a long time may cause fabric damage or discoloration.

Did you wash laundry that floats in water (blankets, padded jackets, etc.)?

➔ Make sure the laundry is fully submerged, and then run the appropriate cycle for the laundry.

Detergent may remain if the laundry is not fully submerged in water.
Once the water supply is complete, press the [Start/Pause] button, open the door, fully submerge the laundry, and then run the appropriate cycle for the laundry.

Wait! Here are more tips.
Please use liquid detergent when washing blankets.
If you use powder detergent, make sure to dissolve it in warm water before adding it.

Is there white residue after using the Wool/Delicate or Quick Wash cycle?

➔ Use the Normal cycle or add extra rinses.

Due to the nature of the Wool/Delicate and Quick Wash cycles, the number of rinses is set to a minimum, so detergent may remain if you use too much.

Pressing the Rinse button to add extra rinses
Run the Tub Clean cycle regularly.
Running the Tub Clean cycle regularly (once a month recommended) will help keep your washing machine clean.
